New to the area. Heard lots of good things. Went in with my wife and was not disappointed. Excellent. We’re from the downstate area so we know good food. My wife had the shrimp scampi. I had the best French onion soup I’ve ever had along with the best breakfast burger I’ve ever had. Everything was absolutely delicious. Really good Bloody Mary too! Definitely on the pricey side, but then again quality is never cheap. We’re definitely coming back. Very pleased.
This place has AWESOME FOOD. I had chicken parm, angel hair pasta with Alfredo sauce. The spaghetti sauce is so flavorful. Has a little kick to it and I love that! The Fried Pickle Appetizer is so yummy!! Will definitely return again and again.The atmosphere and decor is very nice. It's a hidden jem in Cortland and so worth eating there. One of my favorite restaurants now.

If I could rate Rex's any higher than 5 stars, it still wouldn't give this local restaurant the credit they deserve! Having started operation out of the kitchen of a downtown bar, moving to a small bar with roughly 12 tables, branching out to include a deli, acquiring nextdoor space allowing double the occupancy- their growth and evolution is well-deserved, and their quality consistent.
