The service earned this restaurant it's 3 stars. Otherwise, it would have been lower. So, let's start there. The service was absolutely phenomenal. Honesty, this was the most attentive service I have ever experienced, but it wasn't at all intrusive. Now to the food. We started with the fresh mozzarella plate. It tasted good, but the plate was a mess. It was sliced mozzarella and tomatoes accompanied by roasted red peppers, chickpeas, salt olives, diced raw onion, and random pirates of canned artichoke leaves, laying in leaves of lettuce. We chose the beef and vegetable soup as part of our entree, and it was delicious but a little salty. It was also light on vegetables, but still very good.

For dinner, we chose the chateaubriand (the other option was prime rib). It came out over cooked for that cut of meat. They didn't ask how we wanted it, so when the waiter came back, we asked how it was intended to be. He said medium rare. Ours was medium well too well. He toom our plate and returned rather quickly with a medium rare replacement. Now to the dish itself. The chateaubriand had no sear, im guessing it was done completely in the oven. I've never had it like this, and im not a fan. The sides it came with were halvex potatos and carrots. It felt like a $137 pot roast. Overall, it was boring and not something I would go out for again.

The price rating is correct. it's $100+ per person. I've been to other steakhouses in this price range, which provided a significantly better experience with respect to the food. Again, the wait staff was phenomenal.

By a landslide, in the Capital Region and beyond, there is no place better than The Bears. From the phenomenal food to service that is unparalleled, it simply does not get any better. We had the absolute pleasure of dining here last night and it was quite simply magical. My cosmopolitan was perfectly balanced and a healthy pour which you no longer get anywhere. The platter that followed was pure perfection-from the house smoked salmon and house roasted peppers and mozzarella-flawless in taste. Followed by the beef soup-there are no words for the tenderness and the broth that is just pure delicious-The Chateaubriand-just stunning!! Best tiramisu and cheesecake I have ever had dining out-there just isn’t enough praise to be dealt out for this dining experience. My humble compliments to Chef Robert Payne-you are a legend ❤️

If I could give 10 stars I would, everything here.is top notch, from the food to the service, our only complaint was it is a bit loud, but everything else makes up for the loudness and would not be a deteren to us coming back
