Ate there only...priced as expected.Food & drinks: My partner found that a good fish wasn't well served w/a sauce of lobster.. (sometimes simple rings the bell!) Sadly nothing vegetarian or gluten-free offered - (mashed potatoes a bit watery?) Creme brule cinnamon-y?? We ate in the downstairs bar - described by true friends as 'cosy'... the service was perfect! It's always full it seems so res a good idea.

This is the second time we dined at 1770, and both times it has been outstanding. I will never forget their summer corn soup in the summer of, I want to say, 2021. They use local, in-season produce, and you can tell it in the taste. this time, April 2024, I got the beet carpaccio - heavenly with blue cheese, toasted nuts, and arugula. my husband and I ate a course between our appetizer and main, and we split the spring risotto —- so glad we did! The fresh asparagus, ramps, and artichokes were just divine! it was packed with people, but it had such a pleasant quietness about it in the best of ways — A bit of old standards were playing in the background, and you could carry on a conversation in a normal voice, while the restaurant still maintained a happy buzz about it. Our waiter was fantastic, as was our waitress a few years ago. I cannot wait to return in the summer or fall to sample the new seasonal menus! Keep up the fantastic work, service, and cuisine!

Warm atmosphere in a historic house with classic old world décor. From cocktails to appetizers everything looked and tasted wonderful! Took my daughter for her 36th bday and she was very happy!

Wonderful old world restaurant and constantly changing menu. All great. Service was superb. Kevin could not do more. Everything he suggested was spot on. With 7 years at 1770 from the ground up, Keven knows everything best about the 1770. Awesome pub in the lower level too. Looking forward to returning.

We stayed nearby and went to 1770 for dinner. It was a fantastic experience from the moment we walked in until we left. We were greeted warmly and decided to sit in the living room for a cocktail. It was so relaxing and the music playlist was great. Then we went into the dining room and had an excellent dinner. The service and every bite was spot on. It is was totally worth it. Here are some pictures of the blood orange tuna crudo and Scottish salmon. It could not have been a more pleasurable experience!

Tavern is the best kept secret in EH. Marvelous meal and superb service. Cozy and familiar. Everyone makes you feel at home. It's helpful to choose from either the upstairs dining or the tavern menus.

Everything about this restaurant is outstanding. The food is superb, the ambiance is lovely and cozy and the service is excellent. Awesome experience. Highly recommend!

Food was excellent and surprising. I was interested in quite a few items but tried to stick to the healthier options even though I really wanted the duck confit risotto! Both my selections, roasted beets with greens and spiced yogurt and monkfish with lobster sauce were delicious and hearty! I was super satisfied and didn't feel like I had missed out by not getting the other choices that were undoubtedly amazing but richer!

I wanted a comfortable, cozy quiet place for dinner that was casual and had good food. The Tavern at 1770 House was absolutely perfect. The food is excellent and the service was great. The dining room upstairs is more formal and 1770 is one of the top restaurants in the Hamptons. Upstairs, the menu is very pricey, but there is a limited Tavern menu that has things that will appeal to any pallet (Ina Garten's meatloaf, bergers, plus two other choices at a reasonable rate), Or you can order from the main dining room menu, plus there was a prix fixe of two courses for $65. It's quiet, charming, small and cozy with a fireplace by a small bar. The atmosphere is wonderful, the stone basement of an early colonial East Hampton house with low wood beamed ceilings. The house was built in 1663 and became an inn in 1770.

I truly think this is the best dining experience you can have on the East End. The service was impeccable, attentive, but not overly. The tables are nicely spaced for a very comfortable experience. The food is amazing. I had the chestnut coconut milk and the chicken entrée. The bisque was very interesting, and the chicken was perfectly prepared. My partner had the flu sashimi that I tasted and was amazing. She also had the ribeye steak that was grass fed and cooked her perfection. For an occasion or just a really nice dining experience. This is the place to go.

An East Hampton Classic! This gorgeous restaurant has been an East Hampton staple for decades. You can feel the history as soon as you walk in or as you stroll in their garden. The tasting menu was amazing and the service is impressive. We had lovely red wine with our meal and everything was amazing! Insta: @thehungrysw

We frequent 1770 House and are never disappointed. The food is exceptional, and the service wonderful. We will continue to come back again and again. It is our 'local' restaurant now.

Once again 1770 house was delightful. We love the tavern and everyone of the staff took great care with us. Friendly and professional they made our night there special. The food is always great and we love the American menu that has something for everyone. The tavern is charming and we have dined upstairs too that is also wonderful. We come here for all our families special occasions.

We usually eat in the dining room at 1770. The Tavern downstairs is more casual. Dangerous steps for older patrons. The food was excellent, especially the flounder. The service was perfect. But we will chose the dining room from now on. It is elegant and quieter.
