The Waiter Alicia was terrible. She did not even bring us knifes with our utensils and we had to ask another waiter. She also did not check up on us at all the entire time we was there. She did not bring any waters to the table with our other drinks. We were there an 1hr 30 mins and aggravated. The appetizer of mozzarella sticks came out 2 mins before our food and it took 35 mins to get the appetizer. By the time the appetizer was there we almost finished our drinks and we were not asked if we wanted another drink. The waitress alicia did not even apologize for anything and mind this it was not busy in the restaurant. When I told her about the food allergy she acted like well that comes with it and i know for a fact that they can make the food without the mushrooms. This was horrible customer service and i have never had such a bad experience at this applebees.

My family and I visited on Sunday, November 16, 2025, and had Gianna as our server. She greeted us with a smile and gave us time to decide what we wanted to order. She made appetizer recommendations, and we went with the loaded fries.
The main meal arrived HOT; maybe I should have waited just a minute to sample my skillet meal! Gianna was always available for us and made sure that our glasses were never empty. She is a valuable asset to Applebee's East Islip.
We WILL be asking to have Gianna as our server from now on!

Unprofessional & Uncomfortable Experience:
I’ve NEVER experienced anything like this before. John and his staff were completely unprofessional and made me feel extremely uncomfortable during my visit. It honestly felt like they had nothing better to do — John just stood there staring at us like a mannequin while we were trying to eat. The whole experience was awkward and unsettling. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone who values respect or basic professionalism. My partner and I are very successful in our professions and place a high value on customer service, so we were absolutely mind-blown by the lack of professionalism and basic courtesy.

Food tasted old. Sweet and spicy chicken sandwich patty was very dry and tasted old. Boneless wings were also dry. Food was more expensive than it was worth, too.
On a minor note, the feedback survey offer for $10 off of $40 spent took my answers but not my email address with no way to fix it, which felt a bit like cheating customers for valuable feedback.

Usually get to go orders. It's Applebee's so its consistent. It's bar food, so its usually deep fried items. We get various apps like the trio which is good bang for buck, you get to choose 3 of like 10 or 11 types of appetizers. We got wings, pretzels and the fried pickles. They were good, the pretzels were a little hard. We also got a quesadilla which was decent and the spinach artichoke dip and chips which we all like. Food was hot and ready when I arrived at the time the app said it would be ready. Overall its good bar food.

The water served at the tables seems to come straight from the tap: it has a particular smell and the taste is not always pleasant.
A few times I noticed flies flying around the dishes, which doesn’t give a good impression.
One thing I personally find quite annoying is the service: the waiters keep asking almost every minute if everything is okay. I understand they do it to be kind and to make sure customers are satisfied, but it becomes intrusive. Sometimes I can’t even carry on a proper conversation at the table because I’m constantly interrupted, and a couple of times I even had food in my mouth and had to quickly answer the same question.

I arrived at 9:52 pm. There was no host to greet us. I had to wait to be seated, dispite the resturant being relatively uncrowded.
Once seated, I waited another five minutes before being rendered any service. Again, the resturant was not crowded and the staff appeared to be unengaged.
When my waiter arrived, she was unwelcoming and impolite. I then realized that perhaps it is their poor service that reflected the relatively uncrowded resturant on a Saturday evening, dispite the fact that chillies had a wait list.
The food was served hot and quickly after order. My waiter almost failed to check in on us, but by the time she did it, I was ready to check out. I received no parting remarks from staff as I exited the establishment dispite them seeing me walk by.
The good thing I will credit the waitress with is that she did encourage me to wait 60 seconds before placing my order at 10 pm since I would have happy hour pricing. I really appreciated that.
That and the fact that the food was hot and quickly served after order was another positive. The resturant was also clean and relatively well maintained.
Overall, I would not return to this restaurant or encourage anyone to patronize it. Although there were a few bright spots during my visit, the overall experience was very subpar and unpleasant. It really has been a while since I felt like an unvalued customer at a dining establishment, despite ordering comfortably and leaving generous tips on average. 😒

Just went for lunch ordered a burger it came out dead raw they took it back and never got me another manager came over I told her I didn’t want another it’s been 15 minutes since they took it back never got another stay clear they obviously don’t care about customers
