“First, I would like to say how beautiful it was to witness such a warm and caring staff. I watched the waitresses hug customers hello & goodbye, that in itself was so heartwarming. The All Night Eggplant is a really comfortable, cozy, and cute diner. It's not huge in size, but they definitely are huge in charm! A few friends and I decided to have brunch mid day on a Saturday. It wasn't overly crowded, but it did stay consistently busy. Our waitress was wonderful! She was very friendly and happy to help since this was most of our first time dining at this establishment. We ordered a smorgasbord full of food. Between the 4 of us, we wanted to taste the entire menu! Somehow, we were able to contain ourselves, but we definitely did splurge a bit. We had breakfast items that included their specialty pancakes, home fries, sausage, hash, toasted honey bun, and eggs. Lunch items, which included steak and potatoes and a turkey club sandwich. The food was delicious! They definitely don't skimp on the quality or quantity with their dishes, and to make things even better, their prices are AMAZING! I am now a fan of The All Night Eggplant! (Although their name mentions "All Night," they are currently open 7-3, 7 days a week)“
“My husband and I are in Syracuse for the weekend and stopped here for dinner. The diner is super cute and has such a warm feel! I had the Friday night haddock dinner which was amazing and my husband had the hot beef sandwich. I swear he ate the entire meal in under 10 min! I’m so happy we found this little gem.“
“This is the best diner in Syracuse. I love this place. The Three Brothers who own and work there are the friendliest people you ever meet. I've been going there at least once a week for two and a half years and I can honestly say I never had one complaint about the food service anything. the place is fantastic and the service is EXCELLENT !! SO, you're ever downtown stop at ACROSS THE HALL CAFE. BELIEVE ME, YOU WON'T BE SORRY !!! when you stop in whether it's your first time or you're a loyal customer, just tell him TONY sent you.“
“I've been here many times but always lose out on the pie! I heard it's homemade locally and every time I try to get a slice they are all out. Today was my lucky day!!! They had chocolate cream, coconut cream, apple and blueberry. I choose chocolate cream and it was just perfect. I also had a bowl of New England clam chowder but the pie was the star!! Service was excellent as usual. Very clean place. Note that they only accept cash.“
“My # 1 diner to go to, it's never a let down. The food is always great and the portion sizes are incredible!.It's a small shack and a bit claustrophobic but the staff are amazing. You will easily miss the turn and the parking is what it is.One thing i would love for this establishment to do is open a second location with more space inside and out. But all in all when you come here you will NOT be disappointed.“
“Always a good choice. They do breakfast and lunch. Servers are very friendly. It has a small town-like atmosphere as a lot of regulars go here. The food is fantastic. There is sometimes a wait around 11 or so for a table but usually there are a few counter spots open. Check them out“

“If you didn't know this diner was here, it would be very easy for you to miss it. Which is also one of the very reasons I adore Sweetgrass Diner .This is a very cozy & comfortable setting with a laid-back vibe. Everyone will feel welcomed and greeted with a smile. The service is A1! They all work together so beautifully to ensure each table is attended to and served in a timely fashion. You can't beat that! The food is pretty darn good, and the price point is even better! As a mom with 4 children, I love being able to take my girls out for a great meal without breaking the bank. That in itself will keep me coming back again & again. Overall, it was a really great diner!“
“Great meal at very good prices! We came for breakfast when visiting and were very pleased with the friendly service and fresh breakfast plates. We had strawberry pancakes and the breakfast platter and both were filling and delicious. The only disappointment is that I forgot to take pictures of our plates!“

“Take a trip back in time to a Cash Only Low Priced Diner on Teall Ave in Syracuse! Fast Service. Tasty Food. Low Prices. $22 for two people with drinks and a soup is pretty good in 2024. I will say the sauerkraut in the sandwich was just a little too sour for me but the sandwich was still great with fresh hot corn beef. I really wanted to try some pie but I was too full. Good problem to have. Also the vegetable beef had more beef than I've ever been given in a soup!“
“We were on the road and decided to stop for breakfast. It was 8 am and was already packed. The wait time was worth the food. Everything was delicious and very satisfying. Service team already has a structure that they stick to when taking your order, which seems to work with the amount of people they have come in.“

The staff were great and handled the volume of customers well. The food came out in a timely matter as well, and was reasonably priced. Definitely worth stopping in if you’re in the neighborhood!“
“This is your quintessential greasy spoon breakfast joint. On approach you know if its busy it will be good. And it was. Food size and price was reasonable and the eggs and hash was the bomb. Cozy inside and the wait staff was friendly attentive. Even the local customers were great, offering up a table for our group to skip the counter. Captain approved!“
