“Okay... so I've been trying to find the best afghan food and it's been a struggle. I also don't have much to compare it to but at the same time I know what good food is and let me tell you.... THIS IS IT. It's cool because it's casual vibes. They give everything to you in a to go box so that's interesting, although they have seating for you. I got the beef bargh, chicken tikka and the lamb chops with my party. And omg the only thing they are missing are mantoos! But I am willing to drive from Astoria for this place so that says it all. It was SO SO good. I took my leftovers home and immediately devoured it and followed my meal with a food coma. Certainly want to gate keep this place but they deserve the recognition.“

The prices are very reasonable.The very nice gentleman helping me gave me a rice pudding on the house when I said it was my first time there. “I was so happy with this food I was talking about it for a few days. All of the dishes I ordered were delicious and full of spices and flavor. If you have never tried Afghan food, I suggest you try it soon. Restaurant is quite roomy with two eating areas and a bar area in the middle. The young man who served us was extremely pleasant and helpful.“

Only thing I didn't like is that the blinds were drawn over all the windows, creating a fluorescent-only "office-like" atmosphere...in a restaurant!Curiously, the bread was pretty boring but the rice actually had some flava! Also odd, the chicken tikka was a bit dry but the lamb kabobs were juicy. Salad was all right though iceberg lettuce (but obviously fresh and even with a few thin strands of raddichio thrown in)...strangest of all, however, was the grilled veggies side-order: a whole tomato and bell pepper -- nice big ones, too -- but not chopped and kinda burnt all over instead of the gently seared slices served elsewhere!But will still come back fo' mo' 'bobs 'n' rice!!“

The experience of being with people that I've never met, because this is my first time going, and everyone just being nice. I went to Uzbekistan in 2021 and this restaurant reminded me of the wonderful food, the experienced staff and all of the people that surrounded me, who were all wonderful men and women.
