100% the best Chinese restaurant in the greater area. I grew up right outside of Philly and lived in NYC for a few years so it’s been a bit of a sacrifice moving upstate where it’s harder to find as many stellar restaurants. We loved Moon Star and were so excited to find a new spot that we love and are impressed with. Their Crispy Garlic Chicken is sooo good!

Definitely the best Chinese restaurant in the area for American and authentic Chinese food! The restaurant is big, clean, and the wait staff is great! If you go would definitely recommend the crispy chicken in garlic sauce, Peking duck, and the Mongolian chicken. Those are some of our staples.

I'm originally from the rotten apple and for my money they have the best Asian cuisine in the southern tier.??

Unfortunately I cannot recommend this establishment. We stopped going to Moon Star some time ago because the quality had gone down. We decided it was long enough and decided to give them another chance. We made the wrong choice. The food is monumentally worse. The dumplings were the most bland dumplings I've ever had in my entire life. No flavor, strange. The chili oil was barely hot but at least it had some flavor. The beef with hot green pepper has changed considerably from the original dish. I've never experienced this dish loaded with so many onions. I seriously question the addition of onions as I've never had them in this dish anywhere else. The kung pao was overly sweet, way too sweet. I have to stress I've never had such a poor excuse for pork fried rice as what we had. Minimal pork. A couple pieces of onion, a few peas and for its color it should've been loaded with flavor. Nope. I'm still trying to figure out what created the color because it certainly wasn't a sauce. The one good item, scallion pancake rolled with beef was perfect. Thankfully something was actually good. I expected much more especially for the price. We won't be going back, ever. Sadly someone has lost their way in the kitchen because the food is greatly lacking.

I had lunch, ordered lunch specials n 2 dinner plates. Food wasn't bad n more varieties to try on. However, the portion wasn't generous, the plate was way too big. Food was only 1/2 portion in the center of the big plates, like at Red Lobster which I hate it.

This was my go to Chinese, for years! Now every time we order if gets worse. Used to have the best homemade dumplings anywhere! Tonight now they are frozen. The worst ever! I actually called and asked and they confirmed they are bought elsewhere. Same with the spring rolls, now frozen with an unidentified filling. Mei Fun, white and bland. And the kungpo from the Chinese side of the menu was dry with overcooked chicken. The only upside was the chicken noodle soup... Hard to mess up. I was so disappointed. I've loved this place for so long. They worked so hard to build the business and grew a huge following only to cheapen everything. Absolutely terrible. We tossed it all.

Food was tasty and the quantity was ample., St was friendly. We needed vegetarian options and the staff suggested us few items. We were in a hurry and the food came out super fast. The seating area is huge and spacious and clean. Lots of parking space. We went around noon and had a couple families but by 12 30 pm there were 10 families. Seems very popular in the area.

Third take out order that has been terrible. What's going on here? Ordered broccoli and beef when opened dish it was chicken and broccoli. Egg foo young with shrimp only had four shrimp and egg roll was also terrible. Price had always been high but we didn't mind as food was always great. NOT ANY MORE. We won't be ordering from here anyway.

This is my favorite Chinese restaurant in the Vestal/Endicott area; particularly if you plan on eating at the restaurant. It has good food, clean, nice ambiance for entertaining, great service, great selection. But they also have great takeout and it's really inexpensive. My favorite is the green beans and eggplant and I otherwise despise green beans. Good for a group of people who like Chinese food and don't want to get takeout.
