Excellent cafe with tons of space, great drinks/food and friendly service. Sometimes they fall into the same trap as other cafes in Flushing though, and play the same few songs on repeat for hours. Last time I was here they played the same small 60’s playlist for 8hrs straight. No exaggeration. Get ready to hear “Build Me Up Buttercup” 25 times. So bring headphones if you plan on staying a while.
Heads up to management too, the bathroom here is consistently a mess. The garbage can foot lever is broken so apparently everyone is just throwing paper towels on the ground. A new garbage can would remedy this.

I’ve been a regular at greys for a couple of months now, often spending a few hours here studying for the GMAT. Since I typically break fast around 6 PM, I hadn’t made a purchase yet when the owner approached me and asked that I either buy something or leave. (Edited: Just to be clear, I thought the owner was the manager, I have never been spoken to by the owner “numerous times”. I believe your racism is showing)
It was surprising and disappointing to be approached that way especially since I’ve never experienced this before in all my visits. I was disappointed by how the situation was handled and I hope that future interactions are approached with more understanding and hospitality.

What jumped out at me the moment I stepped into GREY Cafe, is the diversity of people I saw sitting quietly on their laptops as well as the ones waiting in line to place orders. The scene told me this was a safe space to be, get some work done, and the food/drinks must have been good enough to attract people of different backgrounds. With that out of the way, here's my actual review.
I got a matcha latte with coconut milk and a brownie. I loved the variety of non-dairy options they had for milks (as well as snacks)! They used health conscious brands so I could see that some real thought was put into the offerings. The matcha tasted like real matcha and had no clumps! The temperature was just right, hot but not scalding where you'd have to wait a while before drinking. I think they default to iced lattes so be sure to tell them if you want your drink hot when ordering. They have raw brown sugar packets if you want to sweeten the drinks yourself. The brownie was soft, chocolatey, and not overly sweet. They offer to warm it up if you like. They have a restroom towards the back. The staff were all friendly and also diverse! 9.5/10 all around experience. This was a very pleasant surprise and I will definitely come back to try more things!

This place is incredible! Not only is there fast internet and affordable food, the servers are really nice and collect your plates when you’re done eating. The decorations, music and furniture make a nice, peaceful atmosphere. There are plenty of places to sit with an outdoor section, as well as a room further inside for larger groups which I’ve been using with my friends for study sessions.
