Pelagos Mediterranean Restaurant

My husband and I came here sometime in June, so this review is long past due. All I can say is WOW!!!! We ordered several appetizers... oysters (super fresh) fried calamari and grilled octopus all cooked to perfection and super tender with generous portions. In addition to the seafood, we ordered Saganaki (fried cheese), not only delicious, but the presentation was so delightful (came out flaming) and a definitely must especially if on a first date (super impressive). They are on top of their game at this place, with excellent food and superb service and hospitality to match. A wonderful slice of Greece right here in Flushing.

A bit pricey but very fresh fish and all the other greek dishes were very tasty. The desert was on the house and excellent.

The menu and service were ahead of my expectations. I absolutely loved the atmosphere of this restaurant. Superb restaurant to take my family out for lunch.

I went with my family for dinner and the food was fresh, the service was great. Moreover,The only thing I might recommend is to toast the bread like other nice places that serve you nice warm bread if garlic is added much better.

Pelagos recently opened; it is a small, street-level Greek restaurant (good for handicapped accessibility on the corner of Northern Blvd and 192 Street in Bayside, Queens. There are many Greek restaurants in the area, there are MANY restaurants in the area, but it was refreshing to go to a small place that was fairly quiet, have good service and a delicious meal. The fish are on display on ice: pick your dinner or leave it to them. We began with a salad which was "small" but a lot bigger than expected and delicious; with tons of dill and feta it was wonderful and enough for two. We thought we had ordered two dorado fish dinners but the waitress misunderstood and brought one. It was a good thing because it was plenty for two people. You can have it filleted (still a few bones so be careful) so you don't have to look at a head. It was grilled beautifully. Have it with lemon potatoes. A slice of honey cake was served gratis for dessert. In all it was a pleasant experience, service was attentive despite a miscommunication, and the food was lovely.

It is a greek restaurant, recently opened. We ordered fried calamari for appetizer which were pretty good and the sauce was good. They gave you warm bread and a red olive spread at the beginning, pretty tasty. For main course we ordered pork souvlaki and a grilled shrimp which comes with one side order for about 24$. The pork, was at best medium cooked, it was pink/towards the bloody side. PORK SHOULD ALWAYS BE COOKED. I understand the grill gives it a different flavor, but undercooked pork is an undercooked pork and downright dangerous to eat. The 5 or 6 shrimp were swimming, swimming in I suppose it was dried tomatoes chopped up and about half of cup of olive oil on a large white plate. I personally do not think much of dried tomatoes but to drown the plate in that and oils? No, no thank you. The fries were homemade and good. At the end of the meal with the check, they give you sliced up watermelon (my favorite ever n I was like ok redemption time, how can you fork up a watermelon you didnt even make it) well that's how. It tasted like onion, the cook did not sanitize his cutting board and utensils between prepping and my entire watermelon refreshment was full of onion flavor. Womp womp. So it wasn't all horrible, but it all added up to a strong 2 stars out of 5.

Overall ...a nice restaurant that you dont have to miss

Wonderful fresh fish, cooked to order! The service was warm and friendly. It's a pretty restaurant with terrific food - you feel like you're on vacation. We'll be back!

I'm from Florida and my friends took me there for dinner. The food was excellent and so was the service. I know for sure the next time I come to New York I will be going to Pelagos restaurant. Thank you for a wonderful experience

Wow!!! Lamb cooked perfect. Salad fresh, crisp! Salad dressing is great! Served warm pitas with yogurt sauce. Incredibly nice people. Server is attentive, the cook could not be better. I live about 50 miles away, and I will be back again.

I've had a few dishes and have not been even a little disappointed. Everything is just delicious. The staff is friendly. The owner and chef is attentive. Highly recommend, need to try the food and enjoy the decor
