I’ve been a regular customer at this location and have enjoyed the broth in the past, but my recent order was disappointing. The broth was mostly filled with noodles and lacked the usual variety of ingredients. I also ordered several skewers, and I’m not sure if some of the chicken or beef items were missing, but I’m certain that one order of chicken wings was not included. I ordered two portions (which should be 6 pieces total), but only received 3 pieces—just one order. Unfortunately, this experience has left me quite dissatisfied, and I’m not sure I’ll be returning.
Stumbled upon this amazing skewer hotpot place in Flushing, and I’m honestly blown away by the value and flavor. This isn’t a trendy new place—it’s a long-standing local favorite with a loyal following, and now I know why! The price is unbeatable: just $0.30 per skewer 😱 That’s not a typo! And they don’t skimp—each skewer comes with a whole chunk of meat, not those tiny bits stuck on two sticks like some places try to get away with.
It's better on Sunday versus Thursday
I was excited to try 灶门签 (Zao Men Qian) Hot Pot, but it didn’t live up to expectations. While the ingredients were decent, the broth lacked depth, What really surprised me was that they even charge extra for the dipping sauce, which feels unnecessary given it is not a buffet hot pot.
Overall, the experience didn’t justify the cost. There are better hot pot options with more flavorful broths and better value. Probably won’t be returning.
Me and my family used to come here very often… we like the food here and the price is so convenient. It is always delicious..
My last visit was yesterday dec 26th night time before closed .the food is very good as usual but we a feel very unhappy and uncomfortable with the service.
We pay our bill with credit card, the server told me, I’m gonna bring it to the front to swipe your card. I said okay. I am expecting to tip in cash( I never tip on card). The server come back with 20%tip charged in my card and sign on behalf of me, handed the receipt to me without mentioning anything. This is totally unacceptable. I usually didn’t look at the receipt and just left the tips on the table, but before we leave, we saw there’s a sign on the receipt, out of curiosity, I look at the receipt then only I realized 20% tips was added(server didn’t even told me). Do u think, if I leave my cash tip on the table, will he return to me? I have no idea…
Who give you the right to charged me 20% tips without me agree and sign on my behalf… I can simply dispute the transaction, but I didn’t. I am not making a scene there, I just hope boss to aware of this and hope this will never happen again…
I feel very unhappy at this… not sure if I’m gonna be back again.the food is good, but I feel being scam… unacceptable.
zao men qian hot pot is a cozy restaurant that has amazing hotpot!! After choosing the broth, you can order some appetizers and other foods from the ipad! We headed over to the fridge to pick out which meats/vegetables/seafood items we wanted. Each skewer is $0.30, which allows you to easily control how much you want to spend/eat! The staff was very nice and it's a really cool place to hangout with friends!
What we ordered:
-pork broth, spicy broth
-passion fruit green tea
-signature bubble tea
-fried dough sticks
-soy milk (for the fried dough sticks
-beef cuts
-LOTS of skewers!!!
They described they opened till 1am but they didn’t serve and accepted when we went 11:30pm.

The service is very good, and any questions are answered very patiently. The price is also very affordable, and the food is very fresh. The pork bone pot tastes very fresh, and I highly recommend the barbecue, it's delicious!
This spot is a must-visit for hotpot lovers, offering mouth-watering skewers for just 30 cents each – seriously, the best deal in town! ?
Their rich, flavorful broth is the perfect base for perfectly spiced skewers that you handpick from the fridge. Customize your experience by creating your own dipping sauce – it’s all about your personal touch! ?✨
The decor is inviting and spacious, making it a great spot for group gatherings. And beyond hotpot, they offer a selection of delicious small bites and refreshing drinks. ??
Next time you’re in Flushing, don’t miss out on this gem.

Super expensive and horrible customer service. Food has been sitting out and not refrigerated. Not fresh! Lady has attitude. Would not come!

The waiters are awesome! On a scorching hot day, I stand under the air conditioner to occupy a table, and let the guests sit in the non-air-conditioned area on the side. Treating people as livestock, right?
