The experience at this place was wonderful this is because it is a small store and they sell lots of different kinds of food. The different kinds of foods that they sell are buns, boas, pot stickers, tea eggs, and many others. The food there is tasty and the service is wonderful. The prices are good and can be busy during meal times.

The chive pockets were not good; the skin was too thick and dry. However, the potstickers were decent

As expected of a 30-year-old restaurant, the taste is great and the prices are even better, but you can't dine in.

They gave us old food that had definitely been sitting.
This place is hit or miss. I used to pass by when I had a chance. Today I wanted "steamed pork veg buns", And they asked me if I wanted it cold. What is cold?? How cold is it? I thought cold you mean it sitting nearby at least at room temperature? Why anyone would come there when you see them cook food all the time, to come and buy refrigerated things? Had no idea but wanted get food as it was 4pm. I came home and it look so unfresh. Can't believe this. I threw it all away and would not come back anymore. Trust lost.
Also, I don't appreciate before I told them my order, some Chinese guy behind me yelled loud his own order and they took his order first, despite I stood in front of them and that guy was BEHIND me. Come to think, I got disrespected twice. Never coming back.

Vegetable bun was cold so I couldn’t even eat it, which was very annoying because I was super hungry and looking to eat something, not receive a cold and hard bun, that also came with no sauce? Almost every place that sells veggie buns gives it with a garlic soy type of sauce…it’s just bland without it unless there’s a big filling to dough ratio…with these veggie buns, there was a lot of dough and not much filling in comparison, so sauce is needed! The cold soy milk was so thick it seemed like it was going bad…I’ve never had soy milk thick like yogurt before and I have had soy milk from a lot of places around flushing! They’re always out of veggie dumplings by 3pm, I’ve come 3 times throughout May to try their veggie dumplings and they’re always sold out unless you want frozen ones which I do not until I try the fresh ones! I will maybe be back for the veggie dumplings, but my partner, who is Chinese, doesn’t want to come back. Clearly this place is better when you come early before or around 12pm, and probably better for meat eaters.
Everything is delicious

Restaurantji Recommends
Talk about a different kind of fast food experience! Zhu Ji isn't like your typical restaurant. There's no actual storefront, meaning no place to sit or go inside. You order outside at the side of a building. It can be a little chaotic when ordering since pedestrians are actively walking through, but you just have to make sure to stay out of the way of the foot traffic and be assertive when you're waiting to order. A lot of locals will order and converse with the workers in Mandarin, but don't be intimidated if you don't speak the language. You can order just fine using English, and they have English on the menu next to the Chinese. I'd say just don't get too complicated with the order or your demands if you're not fluent. We ordered our food to go and only had to wait about 5 minutes to receive everything. You can't beat these prices, the speed, and the taste of Zhu Ji. I also highly recommend asking for chili oil and black vinegar, especially for the dumplings or scallion pancake. If you're looking to make a meal out of $10 in New York City, I highly recommend making a stop by Zhu Ji Dumpling House!
