Our last experience at the Red Salt Room was great however our experience this past weekend at King Bar was not great at all. The bar couldn't get drinks out to our table in a reasonable time. Our appetizers were served before our first drinks were. Our main entrees and steaks were cold. And the food was just ok. Oh and how about having to wait for forks and knives while our food got even colder sitting on the table. Definitely not worth it this time around. Lots of other great restaurants in the area.

We have been staying in this hotel for YEARS. I’m currently staying here now. The last couple of times we’ve been here, the food has been HORRIBLE. Last time we ordered a Tomahawk and the steak literally had a SMELL and I knew right away it was bad meat. We had one taste and it confirmed, we were literally served rotten meat. Last night, we decided to give it another try. Again, a huge disappointment. Spinach came out cold and dry. But the worst part, tuna tartare was not fresh at all. We ordered it for years while coming here so we certainly know what’s it’s “suppose to” taste like. I have brought up the issue to management and nothing has been done. John, the bartender has been taking care of us for years and is always great. We actually ordered from the Red Salt Room menu last night so clearly, there is a problem with the kitchen since it’s the same kitchen for both restaurants. The fact that management is not interested in fixing the problem is a big concern. We will NOT be eating ant either of the two restaurants ever again.

Went to the King Bar with a couple of friends and had a great time. We started out at the bar, and the bartender was great, notifying the hostess that we were ready for our table. Our appetizers were fantastic. We had the Clothesline Bacon and the Crab Cakes. We decided that we were each going to have a steak for dinner, so our server, who was so knowledgeable, recommended a bottle of Cabernet that we all loved. My two buddies had ribeyes, and I had the NY strip. They were as good as you'd get at the best steakhouses. I had one of their signature cocktails, a Burke Old Fashion, and it was the perfect nightcap.

King Bar at Garden City Hotel - A Delightful Dining Experience
My friend and I recently had a lovely dinner at King Bar, a charming spot located inside the Garden City Hotel. The ambiance was elegant yet welcoming, perfect for a relaxed evening.
We started with the octopus, which was perfectly cooked—tender and flavorful. However, the highlight of the night was the risotto. Creamy, rich, and full of flavor, it quickly became my favorite dish. Both were absolute standouts and highly recommended. Overall, the service was attentive, and the meal was excellent. We will definitely be back soon!

I ordered the Caesar salad and added salmon. The salad came as an intact wedge of baby Romaine lettuce which was drenched in dressing. Not only did this overpower the fresh taste of the lettuce, it made the salad hard to eat because it was served on a salad sized plate next to a generous piece of seared salmon. I struggled to cut the lettuce on a crowded plate while trying to avoid the puddled dressing.

The restaurant is top tier, very attentive, the wait staff was pleasant. The shareable bread was the best I've had at any restaurant. This was our second visit and we will return for a third. The menu is a variety do delectable, you won't be disappointed at all.

We were seated immediately upon our arrival. “ Nick” our server Professional, efficient, amiable We ordered Mocktails, Strawberry mule and Passion Mockito, that were refreshing Flavorful. The watermelon feta salad is a masterpiece The presentation is stunning. The salad itself was scrumptious Lobster roll with truffle fries were delectable. “ Nick" presented my friend with an ice mixed fruit bowl with strawberry sorbet( it was her birthday). We had a wonderful. Left with Happy Hearts

The 12 oz Filet Mignon and crisp Hipster fries were magnificent, as always. Service was attentive and gracious. Another lovely dinner in the King Bar at the elegant Garden City Hotel.
