For authentic and absurdly delicious Mexican fare, this alone truly sets them apart. And their options continue to expand! I have a problem with tolerating a lot of unusual ingredients and they even go out of their way to omit garlic and onion in my dishes. (You can imagine the extra burden on the restaurant and my simple ask of the possibility led to them always going out to their way to make sure my orders are gluten, dairy, onion and garlic free (and still just fricking amazing, 2 extra meals in leftovers). Their social media director (?) Is brilliant, and all their events, social engagement are impressive and I'm just thrilled to have this gem of an establishment here to patronize.“

“First time eating here. Food seemed very authentic and tasted good. You order at the counter and they bring it out when ready. I had a steak quesadilla and partner for enchilada Verde, which was alittle different then we're used to. Very good authentic Mexican.“

“This is an order-at-the-counter type place. It was packed with folks picking up takeout and some door dash folks. We were one of the take out orders. Got street tacos and they were legit. Also ordered the chicken mole, rice and beans. My socks were knocked off by the rice and beans and the chicken was delicious. We went back the next day for more. They also had an assortment of vittles (savory and sweet) at the counter.

Update: been there three times and have never been disappointed!! Ordered the chorizo burrito. Good heat level on the sauces that come with it, delicious chorizo flavor. Rice and beans are AMAZING as well. Picked up another couple of tamales de pollo for lunch as well. Great place!!

Vegetarian options: Not sure if there’s animal fat in the beans.

“I've been wanting to try Tacos Diablo for awhile now. So me and my co-worker decided to order from the location in Nassau,NY and I went and picked it up. He got the 3 Carnitas Tacos and I got the Barbacoa Burrito, plus we each got an order of the Elote (Mexican Street Corn). My co-worker said the Tacoswere delicious and definitely loaded with meat. My Burrito was also amazing and loaded with rice,black beans,meat and other fillings. The Elote was also delicious, 1st time I've ever had it. I will definitely be going back and will recommend it to everyone.“

“Had a late lunch/early dinner yesterday. I ordered the “Langosta El Mariachi”. OMG!!! It was beyond delicious! The lobster tails were stuffed with shrimp and scallops with a creamy white sauce and cheese... the green beans seasoned perfectly with fresh garlic, the rice was cooked to perfection. The meal was perfectly plated and resembled a piece of art. I enjoyed every morsel. The lobster,shrimp and scallops were cooked perfectly. The staff is very friendly. The restaurant has a wonderful and warm ambiance and it is very clean. I highly recommend everyone to experience their own dining experience here. You won’t be disappointed. Rich mole que ricoooooo. Will definitely come again. Waitress was beyond nice and inviting. Good quality togo containers, too, for the large portions. The coffee is very unique and has chocolate taste. For the price, you get a LOT OF FOOD . Great munchies for later. Rice and beans cooked perfecto. I didn't even get a picture because we ate it up so quickly. I would say the quesadilla is more on a drier side, but it didn't bother me, really. It still had good seasoning and flavor. I also got corn tortilla, but you can get flour. Very fresh ! Looked homemade. The chicken was beyond tender for the mole. Stewed just enough to stay on the bone but literally fell apart with the touch of the fork. I'm so glad an amazing Mexican place took over the Troy kitchen spot. It's a well-deserved restaurant for how amazing Troy Kitchen was. The only thing was it was a bit cold, and the lighting was dimmer, but they also just opened it. It really doesn't bother me that much bc the food was just 10/10. The decorations are very traditional, and the napkins are folded cutesy into triangles. A lot of love is put into the whole restaurant, and you can tell. It literally made my morning to walk in at 10 am and get delicious oxacan. I do wanna say if you are not used to more authentic Mexican, you might be very surprised what you get . This way, it is more traditional and not Mexican American.“

“El Patron is truly a beautiful place. I love the vibrant paintings and the overall atmosphere of the restaurant; it really creates a unique and inviting experience. While I’m personally not the biggest fan of the food, I must say that the service more than makes up for it. It’s definitely an experience worth having.

I admit I may be a bit biased because I prefer authentic Mexican cuisine. However, my partner, who isn’t a huge fan of Mexican food or the Americanized versions, genuinely enjoys what El Patron offers. As they say, "different tastes make the world go round!" It’s great to see how a place can cater to varying preferences and still create a memorable experience for everyone.“
