Ellen’s on Front in Greenport is nothing short of a culinary masterpiece and easily one of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had. From the moment you walk in, the warm ambiance and thoughtful space- exceptional food, impeccable service, and an ambiance that makes you want to linger just a little longer. Without a doubt, this is a place I’ll be returning to again and again.

The best food in Greenport, by far! Everything I try is delicious and becomes my new favorite. The staff is super friendly and attentive. The duck wings, mussels, spicy tuna, calamari - exquisite. Try the brussels too. Amazing!

The woman squeezed us in without a reservation and I had the mussels and they were DELICIOUS. Great cocktails, too!

Unique food choices and pairing that pay off well. The chef is creative and highly talented. Service is respectful, fast and kind. The mussels were savory and finished fast. The duck wings were the star of the show. They were crispy and filled with juicy flavor. Excited to visit this wonderful place again.

Ellen's on Front serves food that is truly unparalleled—it's the finest I've ever had! The quality of the cuisine, the warmth of the family who owns and operates it, and the dedication of their team are exceptional. Having enjoyed Jennie's cooking during her time as a chef in Manhattan, we made the trip from Pennsylvania to Greenport just to experience it again in what is clearly her finest work to date. It was worth the journey ten times over! Ellen's on Front is an absolute must-visit if you're anywhere on Long Island. The passion behind both the food and the business shines through in every detail.

Wife and I got the fried rice, string beans and bao buns. Great as per usual. A Korean fusion gem in the heart of Greenport.

Food kinda good, not the best but it will do (you are never going to write home to mom and say you had the best dinner here)…. However the fried chicken was lovely.
Where my problem really starts is with the service…. Shocking! We arrived and there was one other table in the whole place (actually they were sat by the bar having having a drink). We asked for a baby chair as we had a child with us. The old lady with the leathery skin who was serving us - (clearly sat on way too many sun beds) and the Karen haircut. Was just so rude and dismissive to me. I was the only brown guy with a group of white friends who she was clearly more accommodating to.
It started with when I asked her for a high chair for a child. She bought it out dumped it at the entrance to the restrooms near our table then walked off. Errr what? Didn’t even bring it to the table (we thought she went away to get a wipe to clean it - clearly not, she went and served the two people at the bar).
We paid a tip but you know what I would have never given her a dime however my friend is American and he believes in tipping even though you receive shocking service. Here is our bill just to prove that we. I come from the uk where we reward good service with a tip because people have done a good job, it’s not expected despite the shocking level of service that is received.
This woman is working in a customer service role, she clearly does not understand what customer service actually is. If she is the owner, then man! She should just shut up shop and do something else because customer facing roles are not for her.
Also if you are the person who owns this place and you are reading this… fire this woman immediately! This is how she is treating your customers when you are not around.

Ellen’s perfectly balances casual and classy. The beautiful dining room offers an upscale experience where kids are welcome, or you can enjoy a cozy date night at the bar. Don’t miss the fried rice or the whipped ricotta—they’re both incredible! The music is always on point, adding to the great vibes. Ellen’s is not to be missed, whether you're in Greenport for a long time or just a good time. Plus, it's locally and family-owned—a true North Fork gem.

Nice atmosphere. Food was very good with a lot of Asian influences. Sunday night service was a bit slow due to there being only one waitress running the whole place. No busboys.

My husband and I have been coming to greenport for the past 4 years. We wanted to try Ellen’s last year but unfortunately didn’t work out. I made reservations in advance and when we went last night we were 15 min late. The woman who was at the front was also the waitress told us we were 15 minutes late we apologized obviously things come up. She scolded us like we are in school. We are both over 50! She seemed very irate and told us that we could sit at any of the 3 tables that were empty. There are only 6 tables total with a bar which was empty. My husband asked her which would be easier for her and she responded “okay sit over here” which we did… nevertheless I have never in my 40 years of going out to dinner was ever spoken to so rudely. I was NOT EATING HERE! so we got up and left: sorry who ever the owner is should probably give this woman a speech on how to speak to people with grace! I’ve been in customer service and I still have a business which deals with clients and would never in my life speak to someone in this degrading manner! Shame on her!!!

Hidden gem on Front street. The menu holds a wide variety of flavors that all sound delicious. We need to come back just to try more dishes. The fried chicken, mussels, fried rice and spare ribs were all incredible. We will be back!
