I generally love this restaurant, but we went tonight and they had one poor woman (who was wonderful but there is no way she could have kept up) on to run the entire restaurant. The food came out and was terrible. The salad came out after all the other food was served. I think they should close on nights they don't have enough help. It's still $125 spent for terrible food

This was absolutely delightful from start to finish! We had a somewhat larger group, just six of us, but it was a weekend and we did not plan on reservations in advance, so we were very happy that Ellen’s was open and had a big table right in the middle, as if it were waiting for us!

We have diverse group of palates, and so it was wonderful that they also had a little bit of everything. I had the duck rice and it was wonderful; my husband had the burger, and one of us had the pea quinoa salad. Two people split the whole fried chicken, and it was plenty!
We split some artichokes and some chard and some smoked ricotta and some other items. Everything came out quickly and the servers were very pleasant.
Later, we met Ellen, because one member of our group knows most folks in town, and there was a mutual connection. Ellen sat with us for a bit and we had a nice chat.

So the food and the service and the atmosphere and Ellen were all wonderful, but I have to give a huge shout-out to the drinks! They were so well balanced. And playful. We had two loafers and four Korean punches and one ecto cooler, and the Korean punches were magnificent. What lovely flavors. I had one, and then everybody took a sip, and then suddenly there were four Korean punches on the table!
The whole crew loved them. And the names of the cocktails were really playful and well understood by our generation X crew.

We will be back when we are in the area. What a delightful surprise.

After hearing great things about this Restaurant in Greenport we finally found time to check it out. We, the 4 of us, had a late lunch and tried 6 different dishes to share. What a wonderful surprise!!! Definitely artisan food with great twists. High quality and great presentations. I highly recommend this place. And while most good places are closed Monday and Tuesdays, this place is open. The Chef/Owner Jennie is always in the kitchen doing her magic. She makes sure that every dish coming out is perfection.
This will be on our list of places to go to regularly.

Outstanding Lunch at Ellen’s on Front Street

We had an absolutely excellent lunch at Ellen’s in Greenport. From start to finish, everything was spot-on. The service was warm and attentive, and co-owner Andrew personally welcomed us with genuine friendliness that made us feel right at home. The restaurant itself was spotless, with a clean, cozy, and inviting atmosphere.

The food was outstanding. I had the fried chicken sandwich with aioli, which was crispy, flavorful, and deeply satisfying. My wife loved her crabcake sandwich, perfectly seasoned and beautifully presented. We opted for mixed greens instead of fries, and they were incredibly fresh and dressed with a delicious vinaigrette.

Our son had the fish and chips with mushy peas—a classic done right—and he couldn’t stop raving about it. We also shared the Asian string beans, which were so flavorful we devoured them in minutes.

The chef and co-owner Jenny clearly brings serious talent to the kitchen—everything we ate was top-notch.

This was easily one of the best meals we’ve had in Greenport, and we’re thrilled to have found our new go-to spot. Highly recommended!

Came here for a late lunch date and was very excited with the choice we made the second we walked through the front door. We didn't have any wait once we got there and even on a busy day in Greenport we got the spot right next to the front window (a personal favorite location for me). Ambiance was very clean and natural and kept that little small coastal beach town vibe on tap. Staff was very friendly and helpful and didn't leave us wanting for anything while not rushing us either (they do break between lunch and dinner, as a heads up). Parking in Greenport can be nuts, we had to walk a little ways from parking on a side street, but if you're lucky there is closer parking in some of the nearby lots.

We started out with a drink for each of us, a local Rosé for her and the cranberry cocktail that's a reference to clueless that I regretfully forget the name of! Both were nice summer choices that were light and refreshing on a hot day. We split the calamari, lightly battered with a great aioli to dip in too. I don't know much about Rhode Island, but apparently they do calamari right! For mains, I went with the crispy chicken thigh sandwich and she went with the steak frites. Fries were so perfectly crispy and just the right amount of salt, haven't had a fry this good in AWHILE. As for the sandwich, juicy and delicious, and I want to know where they get their thighs from, because this baby was THICC! The steak though was incredibly tender and perfectly cooked while being paired alongside a nice garlicky chimichurri sauce that definitely left us grabbing for a piece of gum after, but delicious nonetheless. This place wowed for lunch and would quickly be a place I recommend to others, I'm just as eager to comeback soon to see what they have in store for dinner,

I went in for takeaway, sat down at the bar area. Very nice atmosphere this restaurant has, and the staff was really nice too! Needed to wait on my food for about 25-30 minutes but it was worth it! Got the tea-brined half chicken with the hot honey sauce with the vegetarian Korean fried rice. Well the rice has nothing to do with Korean fried rice (I lived there for a year) but it was SO DELICIOUS I’ll have to go back to get this exact combo!! Loved both the rice and the chicken!!!

One of the best experiences I've ever had! Worked with Andrew to plan and set up a surprise engagement for my now fiancé. They were so accommodating and friendly. The food, ambiance, and service were amazing. We went back with some friends the next night and had some amazing cocktails. Found our favorite spot for when we're in Greenport!

We had a fantastic time here! The food was incredibly fresh and absolutely delicious, and the drinks were strong and just as tasty. Our waitress, Lucy, was so sweet and attentive she really made the experience even better. One of the owners, Andrew, was also very kind and welcoming. His sister is the chef, which gives the whole place a warm, family-owned feel that you don’t always find. We’ll definitely be back! Highly recommend.

A must-visit restaurant in Greenport, this hidden gem offers an unforgettable dining experience.

The culinary expertise of the chef is truly remarkable! Every bite has been a delight to my taste buds.

The menu goes beyond the typical East End offerings, featuring dishes that may seem fancy at first glance. However, each creation is crafted with skill and packed with flavor, even satisfying a meat and potatoes enthusiast like myself. If you're in the mood for a burger, you won’t find a better one anywhere—especially with that incredible mustard!

This place is an absolute treasure, and I eagerly anticipate trying new menu items each visit. So far, the Pappardelle with short rib ragu has been the best I’ve ever tasted (sorry, dear!). Diane is Jonesing for a revisit to double down on the Mussels Korma (new item and she raved about it)!

I highly recommend the food and service here. It has become my wife’s and my go-to spot for date nights out East!
