Lucy is amazing - works behind the bar and out in the floor effortlessly. The food is fantastic but if the service stinks it doesn’t matter. Ellen’s hits the nail on the head.

Superior and inventive food, very fairly priced. Take-home service is every bit as good as eat-in. Friendly service. Highly recommend.

I had a fantastic dinner here this winter. Menu was small but we were all able to find something absolutely delicious. The food was really flavorful and well prepared. Portions were generous and we were all very satisfied. Drinks were only okay but in my opinion the food makes up for it. The service was great and felt super personal. It's absolutely adorable inside, very cozy and cute. I would definitely come back here!

This was my husband and I's first time eating here and I so wish they were in NYC!! I would eat here every week if I could. The grilled Caesar was perfectly charred and the crispy chickpeas were delicious. The duck wings - speechless. The skin was so perfectly crispy and not over sauced. You could really taste the duck, which was moist and cooked to perfection. The fried rice was not only comforting, but extremely flavorful without being too salty. Fried rice can typically be simple, but this had so much personality. The atmosphere is adorable and the service was great. Would definitely recommend eating here if you're in Greenport.

First off, I would like to say that our server(I forgot the name, she is a nice older lady), was such a beautiful thing. She has accommodated us as best as she could and recommended meals also. I give five stars on service for her.Atmosphere, I think they can do better on the lighting, the light from the outside brightens the entire space which makes the candles lose its dim effect.FOOD: Now, this is where you SHOULD read.Me and my partner has planned a getaway to NorthFork for seafood and local cuisines. We have traveled to Riverhead for their food as well.I, personally, do not like to consume raw because as someone who has a medical lab background, I just cannot. I will only eat it if I prepare it myself. I know that raw food requires a very strict way of preparing or it will not end well for the one who will consumes.Unfortunately, my partner is a lover of sushi, and, raw tuna and salmon. When we dined here, I ordered the Grilled Romaine and Calamari. He ordered Chowder and Spicy Tuna (raw). Mind you, with all our travels to restaurants around the area, we’ve bene eating the same, except the Tuna because it is raw.We have dined at Halyard Restaurant the night prior and ordered the exact same thing also.Anyway, after dinner, we headed straight back to Hotel room (walking distance) for our dog. Three hours later my partner started throwing up. We had zero sleep last night because he would throw up every 15 minutes with an interval of Diarrhea. He hated it, I hated it. I, on the other hand, was okay. I enjoyed my food. The next day, we have to travel back to the city, worst day ever. My partner have to hold it. He was sick for 3 days and the Doctor has found food poison from fish. We cannot pin anyone else since the only time he has consumed fish was when we dined at Ellens. We have ordered Lobsters from other places.I have reached out to management but they have denied but said they will re train the staff. If you are out to visit this side of the Island with just a couple of days left, I do not recommend visiting. The horror we experienced far from home was a nightmare. He has completely taken off NorthFork as our vacation destination which I was extremely heartbroken because I wanted to come back for the next summers.

Nice atmosphere, good service, but while the food looked promising, it didn't really seem like fresh ingredients or totally deliver on the trendy city dish flavors. It was still an enjoyable experience and a great option for a candlelit dinner.Vegetarian options: There are several vegetarian options!Dietary restrictions: There were no vegan options.

A cool, modern ambience with tablecloths but not too fancy. Fun menu and drink options--I had aInteresting cocktail w Amaro. I would say the delicata squash was the best thing I ate. Everyone at my table enjoyed their meals. Good playlist too.

Good food, oddly bad service. Our four top really wanted to like Ellen’s on Front, particularly after all the glowing reviews about the quality of food and the service. I hope our experience tonight was just a misfire, because the service was otherwise inexcusable. The restaurant was only half full tonight. We were seated and it took over ten minutes for our first table touch, after which a server approached our table and immediately asked to take our food order - no greeting, offering drinks, or mention of specials. We asked her to tell us about the specials and her response was to ask if we read the board out front. We placed our food orders, foregoing the opportunity to order drinks. No guests should have to go through the extra effort of having to ask for service if they’re paying for it. The food arrived via runners and the order was incorrect, but it was still delicious. We never saw our server again after she took our orders, and we had to ask the runner to close our bill. Clearly a lot of thought and love has been put into the food and the atmosphere - and this just doesn’t make sense with the miserable service. As a former service industry person I am certain that we were good guests, and that we left feeling truly unwelcome at Ellen’s on Front.

We've been coming to Greenport for years, but somehow have missed this place. Using Yelp! to guide us, we decided to give this place a try. Once inside we were greeted by the cheerful hostess. Close to dinner without a reservation they were able to accommodate us. This two-level restaurant is not big so I suggest a reservation. I loved the vibe. It's very welcoming and the positive energy is refreshing. As we dined we were warmly greeted by one of the owners, who shared that his sister is the mastermind chef working behind the scenes. He thanked us for stopping in and having dinner with them. A very nice touch! The food was good. We would definitely come back. But it wasn't overly special where we HAVE to.

Pretty place but no real private tables for two. Food might have been good if it came out like we ordered it. Mine too well, her’s too rare. But the service? Arrogant doesn’t begin to describe it. I wanted to ask if I had done something to piss them off because they ignored us from the moment we got there. But I had just walked in!! The only reason we went is because everything else in Greenport is closed on Wednesday. Next time I’ll plan on cooking.

We met our two friends here for dinner, as they recommended having been here many times for lunch and dinner over the last two years or more. We were greeted warmly by Ellen, the mother of the chef/owner. She acts as the hostess and she is very personable, and we spent quite a bit of time talking with her and finding out about each other. We had reservations at seven on a Saturday and we were seated immediately. They have a good wine and cocktail list. They have a very interesting menu, different from the usual Long Island menus that are so predictable. We had Korean fried rice, fried spicy cauliflower, grilled lamb, fried calamari, and seared tuna with soba noodles. Everything was delicious without exception. The decor was charming, and the atmosphere unpretentious despite the fact that Greenport in general is trying to pretend it is a new South Fork destination.
