We were in Greenport for Mother’s Day, and stumbled in here. The smell from outside was amazing. We ordered the half Brisket, Ribs and sausage with large fries, I was worried the food would be drenched in BBQ sauce, this was not the case. We were grateful the food was seasoned and sauced perfectly. The fries for us were crispy, some would say over done but perfect for us. We liked the atmosphere, service initially was a little slow but it was Mom’s Day. Oh two last things, if you order the sausage it is very hot, good but spicy hot so be prepared. Portions were decent, two of us ate from what we ordered and had a box to come home with.

So my detail is drink was good bartender / I guess manager had attitude as local year round don’t argue don’t correct don’t be a dick when u r asked a question busted our ass today just looking for a meal money never a problem but the condensation of attitude beyond n the nasty come backs will definitely not go back did I mention 💯 local and won’t refer any one there either

Behold! The $28 taco! Sauce not included!!!!

It was flavorful but dry, and was also one taco, for twenty eight dollars.

Also the fries are practically inedible because the fryer oil is old. For the love of French fries Please get some fresh fryer oil.

The pastrami sandwich is good, but I really miss the burrito that used to be on the menu.

Last stop I got the lamb barbacoa taco. It was disappointing. The lamb was fine, but it was all I tasted. And it was a single giant taco, that was awkward and difficult to eat without making a mess. It should have been a burrito. I was sitting at the bar and the bartender took my plate but never asked if I wanted anything else or brought my check.

I'm starting to wonder if it has new ownership. It seems to have really gone downhill recently.

We had a lovely time at Green Hill kitchen. the food was fast and really quite tasty. The brisket was really well smoked and overall it was delicious. The servers were really great and super attentive, and the evening was great. They were also really attentive to time constraints as we needed to make the last train for the night. A few bouts of feedback interrupted the night but they were short lived. The chairs unfortunately were a bit less comfortable but that was hardly much an issue. overall the was a real gem, some incredible BBQ for a reasonable price.

Vegetarian options: there were a few vegetarian options like the impossible smash burger which were a bit of a surprise. the cauliflower nuggets were shockingly good.

The Barbecue is delicious, Mexican grilled corn was yummy, macaroni &cheese was cheesy but bland it needed a little salt, the French fries were real potatoes but they greasy and over cooked.
Jeff was our server, he also doubled as the bar-tender upstairs. He was friendly and knew the menu options which were helpful.
We purchased a bottle of wine it ok but not worth the cost. It's a bar atmosphere and the table was sticky a d unkept.
There was live music after 8pm which was ok.
Overall 7/10 stars

It's just okay barbecue. Everything kind of has the same powerful smoky flavor, whether you get beef, pork, or chicken. The portions are big enough. Would be nice to feed a family. Personally, I wouldn't return. The outdoor seating wasn't available when we asked. The booth seats sink.

The BBQ XL was okay. Would have been better to replace the chicken with something else. Too little food to actually share between 4 hungry people. Nice live show in the second floor

We felt like eating BBQ and decided to try this place out. We typically avoid majority of the restaurants on Front Street for a few reasons but they had a kids menu and outdoor seating. My husband tried this place one time before and he remembered it being okay. This time, it was the worst.

We should have listened to the host when he suggested to sit in the dining area downstairs but we really wanted the balcony upstairs. There was seating there so that’s where we were taken. I was asking our waiter where he wants us to sit and he was just staring at us and mumbled something. Eventually I understood “anywhere”. Aside from us, there were two other tables up there so I assumed things would run smoothly. Nope.
When we were placing our order, there was no response from the waiter. When it came to ordering the wings, we had NO clue what he was saying because he was talking to low. It was such an uncomfortable experience with him. We ordered two pastas for the kids, brisket, wings as a starter and then 3 adult entrees. We asked for plates when the appetizers came and the person handing it to us was just staring into a void. One of them almost fell.
The brisket was soft but it lacked flavor. The wings were pretty good. They forgot one of the kids pasta and we asked for it again to only be looked at confused by the runner. Eventually we got it. My entree was the shrimp, cilantro rice, and the jalapeño cornbread. The shrimp sucked. There was a weird flavor and smell to them. The cilantro was ice was the best thing on the table so definitely get it. Everyone agreed. The cornbread tasted like regular corn bread. You didn’t get any hint of jalapeño or heat. They forgot the fries to my husband’s plate too. The cocktail drink was weak but good.
When we asked for the check, the process was super slow and it wasn’t even busy. At this point, there were only two tables occupied. I took the kids and left to head to the carousel because they were growing bored.
There are definitely other places where the quality of food is better and it’ll match the price.

I grabbed the chicken sandwich to go, and I have to say it was just about the best chicken sandwich I’ve had in the long time. This is not my first visit to Greenhill Kitchen, All the food they have is really great barbecue

Don’t go here if you have an allergy. Went for breakfast and what a mess. The waitress forgot to bring drinks and had to be reminded while she was sitting on her phone. No wonder there was no wait.

Tasty BBQ & sides. We stopped in here at a busy time during Euro 2024, so there were a lot of people yelling at the TV creating a very energetic atmosphere & tough for employees to maneuver around people standing in the way.
