This place was recommended by friends who go to greenport often. We had to push our reservation from 8:00 till 9:00 unfortunately because of traffic from the city. We arrived on time. The service on the floor staff was very gracious and pleasant. The bartender yelling across the room to the hostess at about 9:25 asking if the 9:00 reservation had arrived was unnecessary.
These are conversations that you have quietly when you're in the hospitality business.
We enjoyed the oysters Friskafella and the truffle fries
Rest of the food was okay. It was hard to find the lobster in the lobster quesadilla and the salsa had browned out avocado in it. The chicken Milanese was overly browned in an unsightly manner but the meat was not dry. It did have a nice watermelon feta salad underneath it.
The tomato gratin was moltenly hot and mostly bread crumbs. The frisee salad was very unpleasant looking. It was overdressed with a brownish dressing that made it look very unappetizing. Plus, the pancetta chunks were like pork rocks. They were hard from being overcooked.

It is essential to make a reservation! It is a good idea to get there a bit early and grab a drink at the bar. Drinks are great and be prepared to pay $24 for a cocktail ? but you won't be disappointed. Chit chat with bar buddies. Great environment. Bartenders and waitresses are all very accommodating. As so many restaurants are no longer bringing bread to the table, this establishment brings warm bread with salted butter. Delicious ?. It was tough to make a choice for my entree as everything sounded delicious! I chose the shrimp with ramen ?. I was really satisfied with my choice. The shrimp were cooked perfectly. The broth and veggies complimented the entire dish. We also ordered the sea scallops. Done perfectly! We ended with two desserts. A pecan pie which was absolutely amazing and a chocolate hazelnut cake. All the desserts are made on premises. They have a pastry chef. We were not rushed. They are one of the restaurants in Greenport that are open late. I am looking forward to going here again !

Year after year The Frisky Oyster continues to surpass expectations. From the warm greeting at the front door to the last bite of dessert everything is really really good! The cocktails are delicious, we usually go with the strawberry jalapeño margarita or Beaver Fever. For food, my favorites are the corn soup, oysters Friskafella ( a riff on Rockefeller), country salad (similar to a French country salad with frisée, bacon lardons, roasted garlic and Gorgonzola), duck spring rolls, chicken Milanese (with watermelon!) and the Wagyu Tomahawks steak. And don’t forget dessert—my go-tos are one of the fruit crumbles, strawberry shortcake, crème brûlée or the BEST key lime pie!

Everything about The Frisky Oyster restaurant in Greenport, is fantastic, from the ambiance to the drinks, to the food and service.
The bartender whipped two great cocktails; a WARD and a Cosmo.
Our server was friendly and very attentive.
They always have a great sized, reasonably priced menu, all sourced locally and everything was fresh and delicious.
The popular appetizer “Oysters Friskafeller“ made for a great start. For the main, I had the Halibut on heirloom tomato - light and fresh. Hubby had the Seared Sea Scallops soft, flaky, and moist. The ending of the pecan pie with homemade ice cream finished us off…. Literally!
The restaurant itself is cozy and is kept very clean.
Once again, just as in past visits, we left very pleased and eager for a return visit. Frisky is ALWAYS a highlight to our summer visit on the North Fork. We look forward to it every year!

How rude! We walk in, wanted to ask for reservation. Said good evening to the ladies at the front desk with a big smile and just ignored us. So we left
A good place to visit for dinner with your partner. Cousy, good location, food and ambience.

Tried this place for the first time tonight. Had heard good things. We sat at the bar and the bartender, Shannon, was incredibly rude. Didn’t acknowledge us and we had to ask him several times for a drink (and there was only 3 other people at the bar). When he finally came over he bluntly asked what we wanted and we got 2 drinks and 2 apps. Didn’t check in with us or ask us if we wanted more drinks (which we would have had) and offended the couple next to us so they left right away. Food was good (recommend the sweet corn soup) but won’t be back because the service was so bad. Told the hostess and I think the couple next to us told her as well. In a small town like Greenport service matters.

So disappointed. Went for my birthday. We got our wine and everyone forgot about us and did not take our order. People around us got food and we were ignored! Will never go back again.

The hostess was unbelievably rude. She absolutely should not be in the service industry. We walked up 2 mins before 5. She asked us to please go back outside and wait two mins. So we did as instructed. It was just a light drizzle so we didn’t mind waiting outside. Then as we were waiting, per her instruction, people walked past us and sat at the bar. We then walked in to ask the hostess and she said to us and the other people that were also respectfully following her ask, “as you can see our bar is at capacity so I can’t seat you at the bar.” So because we were respectful and followed what she said now we didn’t have a place to sit. So we, and the others, left.

The prices online do not reflect the prices on the menu!! After sitting down, my family had to go somewhere else, because the prices were way out of our budget. Instead of a $45 45-day dry-aged prime ribeye with steak frites as depicted online, there was only a $90 filet with lobster or a $250 45 oz wagyu tomahawk ribeye with steak frites. They even lied about the price of their fries. Instead of $9, they were $15!!

Fresh and delicious oysters. Caesar salad with anchovies is flavorful. Cauliflower quinoa cake and scallop with risotto
are also quite good and worth a try. Service is friendly and attentive, albeit a little slow due to completely full restaurant. Reasonably priced wines.
