Some of the best food we've ever had in the Catskills - EVER. The Wildair team did it again; beyond standout

The second you walk into Matilda, it becomes immediately clear that you're in a special place.

The service is impeccable, yet warm. The food is complex, but still comforting. It was an incredibly serene dining experience that my fiancee and I will be sure to turn into a tradition every time we visit the catskills.

I love this restaurant. The food is outstanding, the space is beautiful, and the service is wonderful. (We love Greg!) A beautiful drive, worth the trip if you're traveling a bit. Great place for a celebration.

Amazing environment, worth it to go and get a drink, food, or stay

I was skeptical about a 4.9 restaurant out in the middle of nowhere but the food and service far exceeded my expectations. We went for my boyfriend’s bday and I had earlier asked for a tasting menu. They accommodated with no problems and the food was just as amazing!

Creative and delicious menu in a beautifully decorated interior makes this a dining experience you won't soon forget.

The dishes are made to be shareable and you can't go wrong with anything you order. The taste is just amazing! The sourdough bread and butter is a great way to start your meal - warm and inviting. We had the dauphine potatoes as well as the lentil dish with chanterelles, and the huge garden salad in a light lemony almond vinaigrette. Our waitress Amanda told us their herbs are grown in the garden, and you could really taste the freshness of the ingredients.

The Amish chicken is the best chicken dish I've ever eaten - so moist and juicy. We finished our meal with the chocolate mousse and lemon tart and can't wait to return.

Creative cocktail menu and extensive wine selection, both by the glass and bottle. Very attentive wait staff and plenty of parking. Reservations recommended.

Our first time up in this part of the Catskills and dining at Matilda, the restaurant at the Henson, where we were staying. Very charming and a lovely experience. My steak was perfectly done and so tender, which is hard to get when it's a leaner cut. The only item that seemed more on the ordinary side was the Potatoes Dauphine, The beet salad was delicious and different than most I've had. Overall a lovely meal in a lovely spot.

Amazing service and some of the best food I've had in a long time! The chicken was delicious. Also recommend the dish with lentils

This is a fantastic restaurant. If you're reading reviews because you're on the fence about it, just book a table and prepare to enjoy yourself.

The cocktail program is fancy and fun. They're using carbonation in several of their drinks, and the results are unique and delightful. We loved the Mangoes Into A Bar and the Bird In Hand. Gorgeous, delicious cocktails.

The bar area itself is upscale and cozy, a perfect place to just have a drink or even a more casual dinner. Note: They have a bar menu with different food selections than they offer in the restaurant. And if weather permits, grab a drink and walk around in the beautiful gardens out back.

All the food we had was delicious. The sourdough bread is melt-in-your-mouth magic. The dauphine potatoes are not to be missed. The Amish chicken is incredibly juicy and perfectly cooked. We also loved the sundae. Everything was just perfect.

We interacted with several employees, primarily Pat the bartender, and Teak was our server. They were both super friendly, helpful, and efficient.

We truly loved everything about our experience here, and we will certainly be back. Can't recommend Matilda enough.

Came here to celebrate with family and friends and was very impressed with the food and the ambience! The food was perfectly prepared and the servings weren’t too small nor overwhelming. We ended up ordering a bunch of stuff for the table and sharing for variety. They offered me non alcoholic wine that they made being that I’m pregnant- which was a very nice gesture. The desserts were so good!!!! Particularly the chocolate moose with all of its mixed textures! We enjoyed checking out the gardens afterwards. 10/10- will be back!

Truly exceptional experience. We shared the oysters, tuna belly, dauphine potatoes, green salad and the waygu. The lemon tart was one of the best desserts I’ve had in my life. Food was outstanding but what really stood out was the service and hospitality. Can’t wait to come back.

10/10 food. If you thought salad was an appetizer you’d be right, but the cashew salad here was a MOMENT and mind blowing. My main trout was cooked to buttery perfection and then I had a chocolate mousse for dessert that had textures I’ve never tasted anywhere else.

The cocktails are also whimsical and fun. Great selection of wines as well.

Incredibly thoughtful menu and chefs who cook with great care. The waitstaff are also so kind and made sure I was well taken care of. Happy eating.
