Woodro Kosher Restaurant & Caterers

Sadly, there are very few kosher deli’s left in Long Island. I’ve been a frequent take out customer of Woodrow’s over the years. The food is not bad at all but the owner is very nasty. I’ve tried to overlook that as the other workers are friendly. However, he actually started a verbal fight with me. That’s no way for any owner or normal person to act. For that reason, I can no longer patronize this establishment.

The sandwiches were delicious. The pastrami was lean as requested but not at all dry and so tender. Same for the brisket. Potato pancakes were moist inside and crispy brown outside. The brown Gravy a perfect consistency and so flavorful. The waitress and everyone behind the counter were friendly. I must say though, it was Def a bit on the warm side. I guess the ac couldn't keep up with the high humidity today. Overall a great lunch! I'd say Def try it

I didn’t even get to eat there! My husband and I called to find out about their Kosher certification and both of us received rude, unpleasant and absolutely disgusting attitude from the staff member who answered the phone. He couldn’t give us any answers and just hung up the phone on us.
I will not even consider going there now after this experience, even if I’ll find out they are certified by a reputable Kosher certification.

From a longtime customer at the old location who had been away for about 20 years it was delightful to come back to Woodrow and find the food, the service, and the staff even better than I remembered it. Terrific experience I will return. Thank you, Woodrows.

So many of the iconic delis and stores have seen better days. You can't stop "progress". The food is still wonderful and the staff friendly and helpful.

It was a really nice and delicious experience! The food is great and decently priced for kosher food! The onion rings are delicious!
