Really disappointed with the quality lately

This used to be my favorite spot in Hicksville for sandwiches. However, recently, the quality of their sandwiches has declined significantly; they are now both tasteless and overpriced. Additionally, the service has deteriorated, with young employees lacking proper customer etiquette. On a recent visit, my online order was left unattended and cold for 15 minutes while staff prioritized in-store customers. My order was not placed in the designated pickup area. I was also incorrectly charged for mushrooms, despite them not being an option in their sandwiches. If I had not requested a refund, this issue might have gone unaddressed. The quality of the meat has declined, and the overall taste is unimpressive. Unfortunately, I will not be returning.

I've been working as a field engineer for 10 years now going on the road all over the world MacGyvering complex system issues. I take 15-20 1-2 week trips every year.

Every trip I take I make sure to find a local mom and pop sandwich shop and I try their cheese steak. I've had hundreds of them. I've kissed a lot of frogs (glares angrily at Space City Subs in Houston).

For the last 6 years Tommy's in Mentor, OH has reined supreme.
Today they were savagely beaten into obscurity by our new champion.

Place is good an all but eh, I feel like the USED to be good bc i saw the reviews and the sandwiches looked AMAZING. I even showed the guy the picture of that one that's really big with sauce dripping out here on google reviews; well needless to say this is the sandwich that I got - kind of pitiful if you ask me add on to the fact that their sandwiches are easily over 15 bucks and I just don't really see the hype to tell you the truth but yeah it's good I mean it's a sandwich I'm not blown away by it or anything. Just mediocre honestly would rather just go to a regular deli

Chris and Heather were fantastic! If the owner is reading this, please give them a raise or promotion! You can tell they treat each and every customer that walks in like they’re genuinely happy to see them. Great service and great food is not easy to find.

I’ve gone to Roast several times and I’ve never been disappointed. No matter what I’ve tried, it always tastes fresh and delicious. I definitely recommend trying their seasonal or special items like their short rib grilled cheese or grinder sandwich, both were so good and I’m hoping they stay on the menu permanently.

Chicken vodka Parm will definitely knock you out but it’s delicious. Love the special sandwiches.
