Owner was present and interested in his customers. Staff was friendly and informed. Food was well prepared. Choices were limited but had no problem finding something to my liking. Steak was very good and my wife enjoyed the vegetable bao. Staff, chef and owner are interested in making your experience good and trying to improve upon it by engaging customers. The desserts were very good also. I enjoyed the doughnuts which had a beignet consistency. Nice view of the lake. Pleasant evening. Would recommend.

Restaurant is closed for the season. Website and opentable both say it is open. The Sapalta website even had it listed that there was a dinner with a local wine maker that night 11/9. Not a single person was there, no care taker no one.

We both had steak and it was delicious and perfectly cooked. Dessert was great with local wine. A bit pricey but worth it!

We enjoyed the meal immensely, but we were not expecting to attend the winemakers dinner. Others that had reservations were notified that their reservations were being transferred to the dinner, instead of individual dining. We were not offered that choice, so the cost was a bit surprising. The food was unbelievably good, the staff were wonderful. I'd like to try this for a normal dinner in the future.

Wonderful service and lovely location. I ordered the filet that was delicious and cooked perfectly. They had local beer and wines that were an excellent addition to our meal. Highly recommend and would come back when in the area. Don't hesitate to make your reservation now! ?
Ordered the filet medium rare. It came to the table medium well. Sent it back. 15 minutes later the second plate arrived. My dining partner was done with her meal by the time I got my second plate. The musician moved inside which made it challenging to have a conversation while he was playing. I had looked forward to this experience all day and came away so disappointed and paid $70.00 for a mediocre meal at best. Would not recommend. If you’re charging 48 bucks for a steak you should know how to prepare it…the FIRST time around.

Celebrated a milestone bday tonight so I’ve had a number of outstanding dinners in my lifetime and this was right at the top!!!! The local wine was perfect match with our entrees. Friendly and helpful staff made it both fun and memorable! A hidden gem worth the visit!!!! Wow!

Tl;dr. The WORST service we have ever had at a restaurant. Left my birthday dinner hungry because 1 hour and 15 minutes after ordering food our waitress only brought us a cup of soup, which she only remembered because we cancelled our salad. We believe our waitress forgot about us.
My husband made reservations for Friday night at 6:45. In the reservation he noted that we were celebrating my birthday. We arrived on time and were told our table wasn’t ready for another 10-15 minutes. No big deal, we went to the bar for a round of drinks. Before we could even order our drinks, we were told that they were mistaken, and our table on the patio actually was ready. Great! We were seated, and quickly ordered our drinks. By the time our waitress came back with our cocktails we were ready to order. We knew what we wanted so we put in our full order-a soup, the summer salad, and two entrees.
From there everything went downhill. Our soup and salad never came. Our drinks ran empty so my husband went to the bar to order our second round, since our waitress never came back to check on us or bring our first courses. Finally, 35-40 minutes after ordering I called our waitress over after she finished with a neighboring table and told her to cancel our salad, as it would come too close to our main entrees now. She insisted that it was coming right out in a few minutes. I still maintained that it had taken too long and we no longer wanted it. After cancelling the salad, she was quick to return with the clam chowder soup, but it still took about 30 minutes longer than it should have. My husband finished the soup and we realized that we were approaching an hour since we ordered, and about 15 minutes since our waitress brought the soup. Two neighboring tables with the same waitress were waiting about 15-20 minutes for their bill. We were all looking at each other like, “where IS our waitress?” She had been MIA for about 20 minutes. She finally came and brought the two other tables their bills. As she walked by she told us our entrees would be out in 2 minutes. Well, we gave it another 10 minutes, and then we gave up and left. I cannot review the food. It was such a disappointment to leave my birthday dinner hungry. My husband and I have both worked in food service. We have patience, and understanding for how hard the staff is working. We both agree this was by far the worst service we have ever had. We felt completely ignored by our waitress, which is totally unacceptable in any restaurant, but especially a restaurant that has $40-50 entrees…
Also worth noting that our waitress seemed to want to throw other staff under the bus. When we ordered our first drinks she said the bartender was “running behind”, but our drinks came out fast. When my husband went up to order our second round because our waitress was nowhere to be found, the bartender was quick and attentive. He made an excellent espresso martini!
When we cancelled our salad was not out 40 minutes after ordering, she threw the kitchen staff under the bus. To us, it looked like all the other tables on the patio with different waitresses were getting their food in a reasonable amount of time.
