Girasoles Mexican Cuisine is an absolute gem. I’ve been here twice now, including bringing my family, and every visit has been consistently fantastic. This place delivers real Mexican food — the kind that’s made with care, flavor, and authenticity, not shortcuts.

I always order the chilaquiles, and they genuinely take me back to my time in Mexico City. The flavors are spot on: perfectly balanced, comforting, and deeply satisfying. You can tell the food is cooked with intention — nothing feels generic or watered down.

The portions are generous, the ingredients taste fresh, and everything comes out hot and full of flavor. It’s the kind of place where you finish your meal already planning your next visit.

If you’re looking for authentic Mexican cuisine that actually lives up to the word authentic, this is it. Highly recommend — especially the chilaquiles.

First time visitor of Girasoles. Small neighborhood restaurant in the Jamaica area. There are a handful of seats, some bar style and a table or two. It’s summer so it’s a bit warm in there even with the AC running. (Sit in the back, AC feels better there.) The lady that took the order was pleasant. Decent service, suitable for the establishment.

I tried the Steak Quesadilla as my introduction to their cuisine. The steak was tender and flavorful, the Cojito queso was new to me but added to the meal perfectly. My platter came with shredded lettuce, one small tomato slice (could have used a few more) and a little bit of guacamole. This didn’t seem like restaurant quality. It was better, more like mom or abuela was back there preparing dishes. I added a Coca Cola, the cool glass bottle ones that taste just a little bit better than the others you buy. (IYKYK)

Reasonable prices, really good food. Will be back to try another dish.
