“We were utterly shocked at the delicious, authentic Mexican food served at this hole in the wall spot. The chips were hot & freshly made, & all five of us enjoyed our food. It’s a small space, though, & looks like it used to be a bodega/corner store, but it was one of the best Mexican meals I’ve ever had, & the staff is so friendly & considerate. So if you’re in the area, definitely give it a try.”

“Juice & Gems hands down tops my list of Black owned small businesses!! I come in once a week to purchase patties. The staff comprised of family is ALWAYS extremely kind and warm towards myself, my son and my mom. The patties are always crisped to perfection and the filling … ? chef’s kiss! There are other places I have had delicious vegan patties from but I choose to come here weekly because of their treatment. Customer service is of extreme importance to me & they’ve got that down. My only problem is that I haven’t, yet, expanded my palette to try out some of their other food options. I will and be back her to review!”

“Stopped in there tonight for the first time and didn't know they were there for over a year. If you have a sweet tooth that's a spot to go. They got cinnamon buns they got ice cream but no coconut. The customer service was great the cinnamon buns looked delicious and finger-licking good! The staff was very knowledgeable and very friendly. We had a great time and we will return, real talk.”

“Went here on February 2 2024 after wanting a bagel from a local place. I've never been here before which is hilarious since I live a stones throw away. I checked the Yelp reviews and decided to give them a whirl. First off know that it's cash only! They have signs but I'm sure still people don't pay attention so they make sure to tell you. They have a wide selection and the people who worked there were friendly. Not like sugar syrup how y'all doing down South friendly but appropriately friend for a New Yorker. A thousand times friendlier than the people across the street at Jamaican restaurant if that helps you get a point of reference. I opted for an everything bagel with lox cream cheese which was great. I tend to like my stuff on the drier side but I won't complain since it was ample cream cheese and I didn't feel like they had gone cheap on me. Cost: The cost was about $5 I honestly know it was less than $7 which is great for a bagel of that quality. See menu pics attached. Taste: Very good and fresh! Overall, when I'm back to eating bread or carbs in general, I'll give them a visit!!”

It wasn’t hard to find just under staircase and you felt transported out of New York.The food is amazing. They put up a great show and quality is reasonable. “I’ve been coming to Rolo’s since they first opened and they really never disappoint. The food just gets better and better. Everything is amazing but my hands down favorite is the shrimp. I’d say it’s easily some of if not the best shrimp I’ve ever had in my life. The whole menu just compliments itself from the Calabrian chili butter to the wagyu steak. Also, Sitting in the back of the restaurant is such a cool experience because you get to watch the chefs work their magic on that wood fire grill. This is definitely one of the best restaurants in NYC and in my top 5.”

“Omakase was aite. Took very long for each course to come out. Approximate time was 2 hours for the entire 12 omakase set. It was 7 pieces of sushi, 1 sorta handroll, 3 appetizers and one dessert.”

You need to know what to order in this place, otherwise, the dining experience could be unpleasant to your palates. The ribs in the cage looked fun but not impressive while eating them. “When you walk into the place, you can smell the aroma and you’ll immediately realize why this place is rated so highly. We got the goat dum biriyani, and it might be the best biriyani we’ve ever had, as it was truly authentic (they cut it open in front of you) and was jam-packed with flavor. A lot of biriyanis go light on the rice flavors; this one definitely didn’t - we felt ourselves devouring the biriyani INCREDIBLY fast. Our waiter kept checking in on us, and we had fast, attentive, and genuinely friendly service. We also got the chicken vindaloo, and it was very good and spicy, which we enjoyed. We were there near closing, and we didn’t feel rushed at all, and it was heartwarming to see the chefs and staff all sit and eat together after the kitchen had closed, joking and having fun. 10/10 would recommend - this is a hole in the wall joint worth repeat visits - you can feel a sense of kinship the second you enter!”

It was totally worth it.We started with the Antipasto plate, then went to the vegan pasta bollente pizza, what I didn't realize at the time came with a pretty spice chilli, and finish with a bread pudding slice.We also had a couple of cocktails, which made the bill a little pricey, but if you didn't have drinks, it would be pretty affordable.The Antipasto plate was a great addition to the meal.The meats were scrumptious and the accoutrements added exactly what you would want for a antipasto plate. $24The Patata bellente was really good but if you don't like spicy food, steer clear of this one. I thought the potatoes would help subside the spice, but it was still very spicy. If you like spice this is the one for you. $18I can't remember what the bread pudding cost or even seeing it on the menu, but it was outstanding!!! Not to sweet, not too bready, it was just a bit of joy with every bite.Id definitely come back, and not just for a special occasion.”

“I just cannot get over how good the katsu is. The chicken katsu curry has to be my favorite in the city by far and has been since they opened. It's hard for me to find time to go here, but it's such a genuinely rewarding meal, and i'm happy to sacrifice the place being open daily for the love and time that seems to go into everything there, from the in-house food to the curation of snacks and drinks. “Had a 'dinner' of appetizers here with the family. Something for everyone-from the vegan, the vegetarian, to the carnivores. We enjoyed the fava beans dish, loved the liver and sweet reads, and the meatballs. Atmosphere was quiet, and the spot is small, so for a larger group-we we're 5 people, I'd make a reservation. Food came out super fast, and the staff was very friendly. Next time we will try the dishes.”
