I go to Okemo often and this is always a "must stop". The beef jerky alone is worth the stop let alone the all the other stuff. Plus, and I regret I didn't get his name, the guy behind the counter is a great guy.
Was there this past Sunday. Loved the store; loved the atmosphere - and especially the “host” ! What a great guy to chat with. I hope he’s opened Year round because this place is a treasure!
Driven by this place many times and finally decided to stop in. From the outside it appears to be a deli/cafe/gift shop. It felt very misleading with all the signs for breakfast sandwiches, donuts and cider but upon entering it was not clear where and how to get them. The place is very much a tourist trap filled with merchandise, candy, NY & VT related gifts that are slightly overpriced in my opinion. It is very narrow and tight in some areas of the store. The merchandise is unique and there is a wide variety of things but I would have been more likely to purchase something if the prices weren’t so high.. On our way out a group of older women from florida were very confused on which building was open and where to get the food. The building next door looks like the “restaurant” but also has closed signs on it. I suggest the owner revise his signage outside and make it more clear on where and how to get the food/beverages he is advertising.
Cool gift shop
Best hot dog I’ve ever had. The owner is very friendly and the food is amazing. Good spot for a quick snack
Fun place
No bathrooms, all good banners are false. It was all closed up but the main store
This is a great place to stop. Very interesting collection of James and jelly, retro candy and souvenirs.
Saw the signs for cider donuts and wanted to stop but they had no public restroom so we decided to buy our cider donuts somewhere else. No point stopping somewhere that doesn’t let its customers pee. I’ll give my money to somewhere with a bathroom lol
This place needs to close up. I stopped here specifically on my way home because I'd seen it many times. But some old man came out with a cane and said it was closed and that everything in New York closes on Wednesday. But that's simply not true. All of Google maps say that it's open. If he doesn't want business he should just shut it down. It's a crazy place with no good parking and no easily marked entrance. I was looking forward to seeing the deli and buying some gifts. But it's just a junk place.
I thank the owner for responding! It is just the kind of place I wanted to stop, and my experience was disheartening but not typical. I'm an old disabled man and sometimes like to take trips around the Adirondacks and Catskills. Big Moose was my planned last stop before returning to Rutland after 5 days on the road. I'll stop by again, but probably not until after winter.

I stopped for the cider donuts. They were pretty good. They are behind the register, you have to ask for them. The man at the register was fun to talk to . Lots of maple syrup products , as well as anything else you may need. Definitely a general store type place . So much to look at.

Replied: oh, yes!! It was Thursday!!
Sorry, I didn't see any sign.
Thanks
Quirky little Roadside store packed with a little bit of everything. They advertised breakfast sandwiches but couldn't quite figure out where those were made.
