“Unique would be an understatement. The place was packed full of the most interesting and, sometimes, downright bizarre items. The prices were high and the staff, gruff. We brought a couple of things but had a good laugh at ourselves a while down the road when we realized our Vermont souvenirs were actually purchased in New York! The photos we took out front are actually the best momentos of our visit.”

Glad there's a parking lot across the street. So glad we found it because it was spot on for the fish I was in the mood for. Perfectly cooked. Not greasy. Heaven. Prospect has also hosted some fun events, such as this Paint & Sip last summer, a clothing/gift swap, and a mixer for our chamber of commerce. “Great pizza and atmosphere. The owner, Yucell, is also very friendly. My only complaint is that our baklava was not prepared correctly. The outside was warm and had a nice crispy texture, but the middle was cold.”

“Absolutely the best scones I have eaten. Baked to perfection, the scones were a golden brown with a flakey, buttery layered interior that just melted in my mouth. The marzipan scones were my favorite.”

We've been to Pepe's in New Haven and loved Marigold's twist on this pie. Service was great...especially loved hanging with Kevin and the rest of the staff! “What an awesome market/deli/shop! Friends stumbled in here accidentally last week and had some sandwiches that they raved about....so we joined them and got a big takeout order. The place is immaculate and the sandwiches are fantastic. Friends highly recommend the London broil - customize the sandwich however you like it. Lovely, happy, smiley peeps behind the counter. The market has a bunch of sides, beverages and other goodies to grab and go.”

“We stopped in for breakfast as we were passing through the area. The servers and staff were very friendly and the place itself quaint right off main street. Sausage gravy was a little plain in my opinion, but the potatoes were very tasty. My wife had the short stack of blueberry pancakes and they were very good and fluffy. Being from NJ, I can't remember the last time I got a breakfast for $20 for one person and the whole bill was $20, so the value can't be beat. It was well worth the stop.”

“If you’re familiar with Chipotle or Moe’s at all, Avocado Pit is very similar in that they serve burritos or burrito bowls and other items that you build with employee assistance and questions. This location is inside an old historic building so I thought the atmosphere was pretty great and the food was delicious, albeit a bit pricey. Definitely a good lunch option if you’re in downtown Bennington.”
