We like to order milkshakes for lunch when we are roadtripping. Culture Cream's strawberry milkshake instantly became my number one favorite! It tastes like real strawberries and luscious cream, just like it should!
The place is really cute and the staff is very welcoming.
Such creative flavors! I find a lot of ice cream to be overly sweet, but the kefir ice creams here were the perfect level of sweet for me so that the other flavors could also shine through. I also didn’t feel the glucose spike sick feeling after—so Culture Cream I hope you stick to your less sugar-forward & more flavor-forward ice creams and sorbets! I loved and recommend the miso and roasted strawberry ice cream, chocolate kefir, and passion fruit sorbet. In the top 5 ice creams I’ve ever had! Miso and chocolate kefir being esp up there.
I really want to try the vegan ice cream flavors next time!
Great service, delicious ice cream
Unbelievably unique flavors (all delicious), immaculate vibe, excellent service
Long line. Hot inside. Had run out of the two flavors I wanted. What we did get was pretty good though.
Why does every flavor have to try to be hipster
Super cute space. Good seating. You can try samples before buying anything. It’s only 4 stars for be because they didn’t have what I really wanted and I had to settle. Staff was great, and accommodating.
The roasted strawberry miso is the most unique flavor in town. Delicioso. 🍓
Don’t miss the coconut lime. It was love at first taste. Miso strawberry is to die for as well.
I have lived in the Hudson Valley for over 20 years and I can attest this is the best ice cream place in all of the Hudson Valley.

My goodness. It’s not easy for an ice cream shop to stand out and really, truly make an impression. There are so many out there that try to be unique. This one nails it. Be sure to read the shop’s story on their website, but aside from the reason behind the name, the store’s eye-catching flora and decor make for a warm welcome. The flavors are interesting in the best way. I happened to visit when the lemon meringue special flavor was available, to my delight. Lemon meringue pie was my favorite dessert as a kid. The ice cream’s flavor was spot on and the texture was perfect, somewhere between soft serve and gelato. I’m not sure there’s ever been a time when I finish my cup of ice cream from a storefront and actually want another.
This place is a hidden gem. The flavors are so creative and truly unlike anything you’ll find at a regular ice cream shop. You can tell they care about quality ingredients, and everything tastes super fresh and unique. It blew me away, perfect balance of flavor, texture, and originality. If you’re looking for something fun, cultured (literally), and delicious, Culture Cream is 100% worth the visit!
Edit: I appreciate the owners reply and explanation for the reason why the ice cream didn’t have the traditional sweetness I was expecting! Makes a lot of sense and I’m sure others really appreciate this so I’m changing my review’s Star rating because I always want to support a small local business;
I’d recommend advertising that aspect either verbally at time of order or with signage so customers are aware ahead of time.
Original review:
Cute ice cream store with friendly staff but that’s about it. I tried 3 flavors and while they were interesting options, they all weren’t sweet enough. So then I decided to settle on basic chocolate with a topping, but they were out of half the toppings. So then I just got a scoop of plain chocolate ice cream and somehow they managed to mess that up too because again it wasn’t sweet enough. I have never thrown out a half eaten cup of ice cream before. It’s a shame because it’s a cute shop with nice people.
Showed up at 12:15 PM. Google and their own website both say they open at noon. The place was completely closed. Waited around until 12:45 just in case, still nothing. I drove over an hour to get there, and I wasn’t the only one, another family with kids was also standing around, clearly just as confused and frustrated.
I guess when you’ve got a solid local customer base, you can afford to blow off your posted hours and count on people to keep coming back anyway. Must be nice! For the rest of us who actually made the trip based on your advertised info, it was a complete waste of time. Disappointed doesn’t even cover it.
This ice cream shop is a must visit in Hudson! I have never tasted ice cream like this. The flavors are so unique and honestly it feels like I’m doing something healthy for my body :-) No joke this ice cream is righteous. I also really love the decor. I understand the owner, who is an artist Created most of the pieces you see in the shop. This place is definitely a vibe! There are a long lines for a reason… Definitely worth the wait!
