Great food & great service.
I went to pay (with my phone) & the guy said; “cash only, there’s a sign right there”
I’ve been travelling for 8 weeks in Asia Europe & the US & this was the first time I’d been told “cash only”
It’s 2024 - get with the program!
Turns out there’s an atm at the back of the cafe so clearly this situation has come up more than once

Great atmosphere and vibes. The food is surprisingly tasty, best egg benedict I’ve had in a while — better than a lot of NYC brunch places.

If you're missing France this is the place to go. The Ratatouille was fantastic. The outdoor seating was very European. The service was very friendly maybe better than France. ?

Walked in and asked for a table for 4 that was available near the front entrance. It was warm outside and even warmer inside the restaurant. The host pointed to a table towards the rear that would have been even warmer and said “sit there”. We asked for the table near the entrance that was still empty. He said “no, sit there”, pointing to the back. As we walked out he said “you are missing good food”. Poor business decision. Lots of places to eat in Hudson. He doesn’t understand that even good food with a bad attitude is poison.

The past 2 recent visits here prior to the one on Saturday were 4 star. The salads, quiche, soups, coffees, desserts and service were all good and enjoyable, so we returned.
But the visit this past Saturday late afternoon spoiled that. We were seated at a table during a time when the cafe wasn’t particularly busy. A young man who was later identified to us as the manager came up to our table and asked for our food order. When we said we were only having coffee, he went on some incoherent and unnecessary rant about how we didn’t order food so he might move us or ask us to leave, i am not quite sure which, since he promptly walked away, Mind you, as we were leaving there were additional empty tables. When i told him upon getting ready to leave that it was Inappropriate to seat people and then tell them they might have to leave since they didn’t order food, his unprofessional behavior continued.
The coffee was good, but i was angry at the treatment, and my wife uncomfortable so that she didn’t want to stay to finish her coffee. We tipped our lovely waitress $2.50, which was 20 percent ,
I hope that no one else has this experience. It won’t happen to us again, there are many fine restaurants and coffee places in Hudson.

Loved it. True French. Great salade, I tried the house specialty, la salade Gamin, mixed greens, sautéed slices of chicken breast, ratatouille, grilled zucchini, boiled potatoes, and my favorite touch, skinned tomatoes. Great Croque Madame as well. Real French lemonade ...no sugar. Don't forget their crepes, they are known for them. Great staff. Merci à tous

Waiter who receives us in a grotesque manner and almost throws the utensils on the table. Very poor service in general.
Meal was delicious. Beetroot salad and procuitto sandwich. Wow.

I came to Hudson NY from the middle Hudson Valley. It was a hot day 99 degrees out. We came in, were seated immediately, and given drinks. The menu was diverse and great. I had a salmon sandwich, my spouse a lamb sandwich, and my mom had an awesome chicken and vegetable roast salad! The staff were attentive and welcoming. Their restroom was large and clean. I highly recommend this place.

Came her for brunch with my wife while staying the weekend in the Catskills. It's a fun place the atmosphere was very cool and decorated very fun. My wife really loved her eggs Benedict and I got a chicken bacon paninni with guacamole. I would prefer it to have been crispier and the guacamole was a little salty. I did try my wife's dish and it really was amazing. The staff was very nice and friendly. Would definitely come back and try more dishes. We also liked that the serve a nice fresh crisp salad on the side with their meals. Great touch.

I’m a local. I love this place. It is as French as you can get outside of France, down to the demeanor of the French owner. It’s a bit like stepping into a small town in France, especially if you’re a local. In other words, they recognize us and,( just like in France!) they are warmer than with City folks. But they’re polite and helpful to all.
Some people have complained about an item as “not French”. France is a big country, and varied. Go there for really good food of a category not found enough in the U.S., good service and fun atmosphere. Pretend you were able to travel to France, while enjoying upstate NY.

False advertising as to the prices on the menu. The online menu has prices that are approximately 1/2 what is charged in the restaurant. Don't forget that it is CASH ONLY. While the food was fresh the service was very slow and they forgot to bring out our entire order.
