This place is SO MUCH FUN. I would definitely go back if I was in town again. They are super knowledgable about scent mixing and they have a great drink selection. Most importantly, they didn't bat an eye when I gave my candle an inappropriate scent name.

I'm bummed to leave a review like this, and the experience wasn't completely negative, but I wanted to share my experience for other potential customers. I booked the candle experience with my partner, and we had fun choosing the scents (although many did smell cheap and not of the best quality, some not smelling even remotely like the real essential oils for those scents, like lavender and bergamot). The person helping/guiding us was informative and friendly, and we enjoyed the mixing process to create the final scent. My partner made a candle which turned out great - I would suggest sticking with this option as it is probably the safer choice and more likely that the finished product will be usable. I chose to upgrade (I think 30 or 35 dollars in addition to the 50 for the initial reservation which includes the candle) to the perfume, which I cannot recommend to anyone. Before mixing the oil solution with the alcohol solution, I liked the smell very much. The finished product however smelled completely different, like a cheap, chemical perfume that never wears off. The quality of ingredients seems to be a big issue, and what they charge is not commensurate with what you are getting. While the experience was fun, spending $85 dollars on a bottle of perfume that I'm just going to throw away is pretty upsetting. I reached out to the team at Poured, explaining the situation and asking if there was anything that could be done or offered as compensation, and at first they didn't even respond. I emailed a second time following up, and I got a polite albeit unhelpful response. I wasn't expecting a refund, but I thought maybe they would offer for me to come back sometime and make a candle in them (and I would obviously come with another friend and would pay for their experience). Any kind of gesture to make it right would have been nice, and would have brought them more business. Now I wouldn't return or recommend this place to anyone. Upsetting.

Such a fun afternoon here. We had wine and made our candles and just had a blast. Kristen was so great helping us all find out best combos for the perfect candle. She was extremely knowledgeable about the scents and science of candle making. And you get to name it! 11/10 experience.

We had a great afternoon here with our young adult children and a large group of 11. Couldn’t recommend it more for a 2 hour activity especially in the winter.
This is only for the candle, not the store. I purchased Feral Gray from a retailer and fell in love with the cold scent. Unfortunately when lit it gives off a powdery smell that is unpleasant and nothing like the cold scent, the juiciness of the black currant completely disappears when hot. The throw is fine, not awful but not amazing. Another gripe is the label. For the price I expected lots of attention to detail but the label on mine was torn and lifted (see photos). I’m very disappointed because I adore the cold scent of this, but it’s useless lit to me, and the shoddy label is a red flag. Maybe I got a bad one? I don’t know. The scents are so intriguing but this was a big miss and I’m very hesitant to buy more.

Our group absolutely loved our experience at Poured… what a highlight of our Hudson Valley bachelorette trip! We had so much fun smelling all the different scents and learning how to mix them to create our very own candle or perfume. The person we worked with was extremely friendly and so patient with helping us make adjustments to our custom fragrance. 10/10 experience and I hope to come back someday!
