We very much enjoyed our evening at Sonder. Lovely staff and a great vibe but a pity that by 8pm over half of what’s a pretty short menu had already run out.

After a much anticipated visit, I leave incredibly disappointed. Our waitress was lovely, but the selection and ultimately food quality was MEH. We ordered the salad, shrimp cocktail and pickles and split the burger. The salad was incredibly overdressed, the shrimp was mush and undercooked, and the burger bun was stale and the patty itself was hard and enormously salted. Every dish tasted like vinegar. There was no originality in any dish. Sadly we won’t be going back nor recommending this spot.

Simply enough - the food here is great. On a deeper level, this restaurant is very special, and you can sense the lore behind every dish and wine selection. We were lucky enough to have one of the owners as a server, and they told us the (hilarious! incredible! and heartwarming) stories behind each thing we ordered, from the shrimp cocktail to the burger to the chilled red wine. I am still thinking about the special cavatelli with charred asparagus and frizzled onions! I wish I could eat here every week but I will have to settle for planning to eat here every time I am back in Kingston.

I had the pleasure of dining at sonder last night and it far exceeded my already high expectations. The food (bread and butter worthy of writing home about, tasty salad with unique flavors and perfect temperature/crispiness, perfectly cooked burger and delicious organic wine), the service (Mikayla made us feel like we were the only ones there), and the atmosphere/vibe (rustic yet classy, formal yet comfortable) makes for a perfect dining experience.
I can't recommend this spot enough.
Just go already and see for yourself.

What a delightful dinner! Food was incredible, everyone was lovely, the outdoor space was beautiful and serene. Couldn’t have been more perfect.

We loved the burger because it was super flavorful. We also enjoyed the za’atar bread with the two types of butter: parsnip and honey. We could have used about 200% more butter though. The beets were also delicious! The service door was left open consistently for the servers and let in a very chilling draft that felt preventable with a spring in the door though our servers were very nice. My child hid beneath a blanket, which the restaurant provided so there is knowledge about the cold. He ended up in a funny back and forth of getting up to close the door every time it was left open. Overall though, we recommend the restaurant for its wonderful food and people.
A 5 star experience nothing more could be desired! The bread and butter plus salad was excellent!! The shrimp cocktail was 10/10

order took way too long, but he was by himself on the floor. food was way too overpriced for what it was. my boyfriend ordered a burger, and it extremely underwhelming. i ordered the chicken, which was fatty and on the bone— which was not stated on the menu. the dressing was broken, and asparagus was overcooked. least to say, we won’t be coming back.

I completely in awe of this place. As soon as you walk in, the energy feels cozy, warm, and vibrant, carefully curated to highlight the little details. I have recently started having solo dining experiences, so the feel of places is so important to me, and basically I could write a book sitting in one of those tables. The servers are kind and warm-hearted, and the wine selection is excellent. I only had room for appetizers and wine the night I went, but I can’t wait to go back to treat myself and try some more yummy foods—everything looked incredible on the menu!
