I was excited to try this restaurant after it was recommended by our Airbnb host while we were staying in Hudson for the weekend. I had a 7 pm reservation and arrived on time, but the hostess told us (rather rudely) that there would be at least a 10-minute wait, despite the dining room being half empty. After 20 minutes of waiting, we asked again and pointed out the multiple empty tables. She seemed visibly annoyed, but eventually seated us.

Unfortunately, the service didn’t improve much. Our server forgot parts of our order multiple times, and we had to request water and drinks more than once while she spent a lot of time chatting with other staff at the bar.

The saving grace was the food, which was very good, and the only reason I didn’t rate this a one-star.

Such a gem! Had a wonderful birthday dinner here. Loved the corn, house made burrata, and artichokes. Dinner favorite was definitely the hanger steak! Great interior vibes and service- highly recommend

When we arrived we were seated immediately, but then waited quite some time before anyone came to our table to greet us and provide water and menus. We felt quite ignored.
Then I ordered a bottle of wine, waited a long time for it, and was finally told the wine was no longer available.
I then ordered another bottle, and waited, and was then told that wine too was no longer available.
UPDATE YOUR WINE LIST!
I finally settled on a half-bottle which was fine.
The appetizers came in a reasonable time (I had yet to get my wine), and they were tasty (artichokes and endive salad).
The entrees came in a reasonable amount of time. My scallops tasted okay, but they had an odor from the sea (perhaps they were not fresh). My partner had the beef short ribs and was quite dissatisfied with them (they were very fatty, greasy, and lacked flavor).
Our dessert was very good which we shared (coconut creme brule).
Overall, the service was not great. The waitress seemed overwhelmed by the number of tables/guests she needed to serve. The runner from the kitchen, while very nice and professional, seemed equally stressed and rushed.
Our table was cleared in a timely fashion, yet the table next to us sat with dirty dishes in front of them for a very, very long time.
The chairs were not particularly comfortable. The dining room is a bit noisy too.
Overall, for the price point of this meal ($300), I would have expected a more refined, tasty, attentive dining experience.
Hence, we will not return.

A resturant that is a requirement, if you visit Hudson.

The food was excellent. Casual place. Service was okay. Our party had to wait a long time for water refills during the meal. Atmosphere was not great because of noise and tables were not well positioned. Also it was pretty expensive for our large group.

Have been hearing about this place for so long and have to say the hype didn’t match.. orders were wrong and I’m sorry but the “chef doesn’t like ketchup” is the most pretentious statement I’ve heard in while. Ok then make a fancy tomato jam or relish to serve with your burger. But choosing to not have an option when you have burgers on the menu is hilarious. One and done.

One of worst experiences at a restaurant in my life… made an anniversary reservation for 730pm on Resy and came 4 minutes early. After checking in with the hostess, we were offered 2 different table options, after picking one we were told oh wait we are only seating the bar right now. I said “even though we have a reservation?” Hostess replies “yea I don’t really know what’s going on we are busier than expected”

Not even sure what to think but sharing the experience. Cannot comment on the food since we weren’t actually able to eat but there are many other great options just doors away!

Would not ever look back after being treated this way.

Very nice people, high prices, average food. Would I come back? Maybe, but likely not.

Such an amazing spot. Love stopping by every time I am in the area. Food is always fresh and the portions are great! A little pricey if you have never been there before, but trust me it's worth every penny. Friday they have an oyster happy hour, but I'll buy oysters any day of the week as long as they are in season.

Stopped into Swoon while driving thru the Catskills, as I'd heard it's been around awhile. Staff couldn't be nicer, and the service is super quick. The food is very good, but not exceptional: I dug the kale salad and the fried artichokes are tasty, but nothing particularly special. Linguini with clams was advertised as homemade pasta, but tasted more like dried / packaged to me? Clams were very high quality, though, and super well prepared. Ambiance was also nice, but still just lacking something that kept it from being too warm or inviting. Overall, a very nice place, but nothing especially memorable here.
