I was blown away this weekend by The Maker's cuisine. The crispy skin sea bass with side sauces and condiments, chicken and corn with harissa butter frites. Simple yet complex, and classic; A fabulous selection of ingredients and flavors by Chef Sophie Dalah, hailed from LA and NYC, worth following. The Maker will have me back for a repeat experience.

My only disappointment was the chef’s refusal to add protein of some sort ( beans, hummus) to my meal. There was hummus on the menu as a side dish for another meal. When you eat in a high-end place like the maker, you don’t expect to be offered an Impossible burger as a vegan solution! I did have a delicious meal of pasta and mushrooms. I just would prefer to have protein of some sort.! Absolutely stunning restaurant and hotel. A must see if in the Hudson valley area!

Great dining experiences

We dined at the maker hotel for our girls trip and we had a great time. We were in a group of six people, and we made a reservation beforehand. The space is beautiful on the inside and outside. The menu is small but with plenty of options for appetizers and main entrées, we ended up splitting some appetizers a pasta dish and we each ordered a main dish, our favorites or the eggplant appetizer mushroom pasta, and peach appetizer. Overall, the staff were really friendly And I love the atmosphere. I would definitely dine in here again for special occasions. However, I would say that it’s a bit expensive.

This beautiful, Georgian style building seamlessly marries late 19th century decor with modern, chique art deco.
The California style menu highlights an array of fresh, local ingredients changed monthly. Highlights were the caramelized peaches and fusilli- a beautiful al dente pasta covered with a savory, creamy mushroom pecorino sauce.
The wine list is excellent, and staff are sharpe and attentive. A very lovely experience perfect for a romantic or special occasion.

I would come back here just for the service alone. Our server was so kind, informed, and professional. The food was very good and our server brought us an eggplant dish to try that exceeded our expectations by a LOT (I had no idea eggplant could be that good). I really enjoyed everything and can’t wait to visit again.
