A date night well spent. The ambiance is always wonderful, but with the holiday decor, it took everything up a notch. We havenât been since the new chef took over, and he did not disappoint. The drinks, the salad, the entrees (we got the pork collar & sea bass), and the dessert were all balanced and tasty. Maura, our server, was attentive and kind. Canât wait to come back!

Absolutely incredible experience at The Maker! The new chef has truly elevated the menu â itâs beautifully French-inspired, creative, and every dish was detailed and cooked to absolute perfection. You can really taste the care and technique in every bite.
The service was warm, attentive, and made the evening feel special from start to finish. The ambiance is gorgeous as always â elegant, cozy, and thoughtfully designed.
Highly recommend dining here. The Maker is better than ever!

Iâm so sorry. The server was incredible. But the food tastes like cruise ship, nursing home food. Thatâs not Waygu. Itâs sirloin at best. The salad was parsley and endive and random leaves in a heap with no flavor. The eggplant was like a dead body floating in some sweet soy sauce? The texture was inedible. The steak was tough and had some 1970 style white sauce. The chefâs menu was a head scratcher to begin with but we gave it a shot . We wasted a meal and some money on this. Service was beautiful and the atmosphere was divine. Made up for it.

Eating at this restaurant puts you in an old world elegance of style, comfort, and ambiance. Pillows with the chairs and a small bench for the purse, no detail left unattended. The staff was impeccable!
We shared the butternut squash starter that was out of this world. The portion was generous enough for 2 seniors to enjoy. It was light and tasty and the perfect starter.
The salmon was cooked to perfection - not overdone at all. The Amish chicken had a sauce that burst with flavor along with the spinach and mushrooms! Even the old fashioned cocktail was nicely made. All in all, a most enjoyable evening!

Terrible experience here. Stay in NYC - itâs not worth spending your money here.

We came here for brunch and had a good experience overall. The ambiance, however, was the highlight: beautifully vintage, cozy, and full of good energy.

The atmosphere at the Maker is stunning with a really great vibe, however, the service was lacking when my friend and I came here for my birthday. We had a reservation and it took 30 mins before our waiter even acknowledged us, and rarely checked on us throughout the night. There were a lot of tables around us celebrating different occasions that received a complimentary dessert/candle or full glasses of prosecco, so it was nice but somewhat odd that they provided us each with a complimentary 1/4 glass of prosecco when the couple next to us (also there for a celebration) received full glasses. That said, overall the food was great. We got the beef tartare, the potato escargot, chicken entree and waygu entree. All were excellent - especially the chicken - except for the waygu was pretty tough. Recommend for the food and atmosphere but be warned the service is not up to standard with the prices (for reference we spent over $150pp).

We had the pleasure of dining at The Maker and tasting the food of their new chef. The changes are distinct as there is a new menu focused on classic French distinct with a new format that allows for a more shareable meal experience.
Each dish was sophisticated and showed high level of technique without being overly fussy. Each plate delivered on taste and presentation.
The comté and lonza were each sliced paper thin and almost melted upon the tongue, a lovely complement to the bread course.
The squash, escargot, and eggplant dishes were excellent and shared amongst the table.
Chicken and Wagyu mains were exquisite, accompanied by beautiful sauces: a classic albufera and a macadamia cream sauce respectively.
Canât wait to return to see how the new identity develops under what is clearly exciting new leadership in the kitchen.

The vibe is very nice and romantic⊠the apps were delish but when weâre told that the new chef was French inspired and was a chef at Momofuku in NYCâŠ. Being a native to NYC my expectations were fair. The apps were awesome but the main meals were bland, no flavor and hardly any sides. To spend $50 on Amish chicken was a lot and the mushrooms were the best part of the plate. The chef needs to do better with the mains, add flavor and sides⊠the salmon was good but 2 green sticks as a side is unacceptable. The drinks were ok, but put the olives on a stick for your martini and DEPIT them⊠this was our first time and the previous reviews are accurate.
Also, if you are vegan, there is ZERO main that accommodates you. :(

Was so looking forward to dinner tonight. Overall experience not great. Waited for the hostess forever , wait staff inattentive and not interested to say the least. Barely interact and very non engaged. But I was SHOCKED by the menu. 3 protein dishes and 5 appetizers , none of which were Intersting. No specials nothing. I love their chicken Milanese that they serve in the bar. Itâs amazing. Given how bad the menu was, I asked if they would make it for the table. Flat out no. Desserts was a sorbet or ice cream with blueberry. The pork dish was delish Just really lackluster experience not inspired menu for such an amazing place.

We have been to this restaurant several times and marked it as our go to spot for coming to Hudson, the food was amazing. We had this eggplant dish that was simply unlike anything we ever tried and we are foodies.
Unfortunately, we just went back on October twenty third, two thousand and twenty five, just yesterday for us and the chef has changed and the menu is completely different and wow- what a disappointment!
They have an eggplant dish - but it is nothing like before. They also list a $30 steak - and what comes is a hamburger drowned in sauce. Not the mention an ordinary chicken listed as âAmishâ for $48 and itâs a joke.
This is the first time I have posted a review on a restaurant, Iâm just not a reviewer. But it was such a disappointment- I had to warn everyone else who fell in love with the Maker Restaurant like we did, donât bother going for food anymore.
The atmosphere and cocktails are still worth a visit. But get your dinner elsewhere.
Sorry, but itâs the truth.
