I recently stayed at an Vanderbilt Lakeside for my bachelorette party, and it was an unforgettable experience thanks to our incredible hosts, Henrietta and Matt. From the moment we arrived, they went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and accommodated.
The highlight of our stay was the dinner party they organized for us. The food was absolutely amazing—each dish was delicious and beautifully presented. The drinks were equally impressive, making for a perfect evening of celebration.
The space itself was fantastic. The backyard was a wonderful spot to relax and hang out, and being so close to Hudson made it easy for us to explore the area. The rooms were clean, cozy, and well-decorated, providing a perfect retreat after our busy days.
Overall, I can't recommend Vanderbilt Lakeside enough. Henrietta and Matt’s hospitality made my bachelorette weekend truly special. If you’re looking for a charming place to stay with outstanding hosts, this is it!

We had our wedding at Vanderbilt Lakeside and could not have asked for a better experience! Henrietta was extremely responsive and organized throughout the entire planning process, and thoughtful about making the weekend as we envisioned. Having the entire venue for the weekend, including 8 bedrooms upstairs, was a great way to spend extra time with our family. The space is beautifully appointed and required very little additional decorating for the event. The food was excellent, and our guests with dietary restrictions and allergies were especially grateful for the thoughtfulness of their kitchen and staff. Highly recommend for anyone looking for an intimate and personalized wedding or event.

We had an incredible time at Vanderbilt Lakeside last weekend! The space is absolutely stunning and pictures don’t do it justice. Henrietta was very responsive and helped us find activities to do in the area. We did a catering package one night and the food was great! I can’t recommend this place enough.

We spent the weekend at Vanderbilt Lakeside for my sister's bachelorette party and it was everything we wanted and more. The space is beautiful and the amenities wonderful. We decided to do the add-on catered dinner and it was a perfect meal. A+ service and an A+ place. Highly recommend!

We recently hosted our sister's bachelorette here and it was a wonderful experience! Henrietta and team were extremely helpful when planning the weekend including putting together a private dinner experience.
Overall the house was clean, had tons of great activities and the backyard was extremely beautiful and 10/10 would go back again.
Rooms: rooms were clean, spacious and each had its own bathroom.
Food & drinks: They curated a private dining experience - the smoked trout was a must have! We also had a bunch of dietary restrictions and they were extremely accommodating.
Noteworthy details: the backyard is awesome and the bar space is fantastic.

We can’t say enough about how wonderful our experience was at Vanderbilt Lakeside. Henrietta and Matt spared no effort to make us feel comfortable, relaxed and at home in their beautiful space.
And yes, it is truly beautiful! It retains the charm of an older estate but with modern amenities.
For example, during our wedding weekend, it was extremely hot outside, so we were somewhat limited in doing outdoor activities during the day. Regardless, we were able to enjoy ourselves inside, with the spacious rooms, ample seating and indoor activities, and music throughout the space.
We also had a great time doing karaoke! We loved that guests who wanted to go to sleep early could. The upstairs rooms are private, quiet and well-air-conditioned. And we loved that they each had their own bathroom!
We also appreciated Henrietta, Matt and their team’s efforts to make sure the catered dinner was a success. The food was incredible. We loved having the option to pick from so many dishes, and all of them were fantastic. Having them handle everything allowed us to just focus on the wedding and enjoy spending time together.
Maybe the thing we appreciated most of all was how quickly they dealt with any requests or (minor) issues that came up. They felt like our partners throughout the weekend, responding quickly to questions and never making us feel like we were burdening them.
At the end of the weekend, a few attendees remarked that they were thinking about doing a future event at Vanderbilt, because they loved it so much. We recommend Vanderbilt Lakeside without reservation!

As a photographer this venue was pure eye candy and gave me so many interesting spots for photos!

Where do I begin? Last weekend my husband and I hosted our daughter's wedding at Vanderbilt Lakeside. I cannot say enough about the entire experience.
The setting was gorgeous and the food amazing. Both the bride's and groom's families stayed 2 nights on premises and our stay couldn't have been better.
Henrietta is a gem! Her advice and assistance were invaluable during the months before the event. She helped my daughter and I navigate the wild world of wedding-planning without either of us losing our sanity. And her attention to detail on the day of event was amazing.
The other half of Vanderbilt Lakeside is Matt, whose food is still the talk of our guests 4 days after they ate it. Thank you, Matt for amazing appetizers, delicious entrees & sides, and banana pudding that was perfect! You're the best.
Henrietta and Matt, thank you for making our daughter's wedding the perfect event we were hoping it would be!

My husband and I had our 90-guest wedding at the Vanderbilt on 6/8/24 and it could not have been any better. We found the Vanderbilt on Airbnb when looking for a unique wedding venue, visited it in January of 2023, and booked it instantly- didn’t even see another venue.
As stated in previous reviews, Henrietta made the planning process as easy as possible. We communicated mainly via email, but she allowed us to come to the space as often as we needed (I think between both of our families we were there 3 times). She also provided a list of vendors that previous wedding parties had used at the Vanderbilt, which I used for our planner, tent company, shuttle company and photographer (all great).
When it came time for the tasting, we were provided with an extensive menu of food and drinks curated by Matt. We were blown away by the food.
As the wedding day approached, Henrietta was easy to communicate with and flexible. She helped us plan a thorough rainy day plan B, and was the bearer of good news when she called me 2 days prior to tell me the weather looked good and we were going with plan A.
The weekend of the wedding was incredible. Our families stayed in the 8 rooms upstairs Friday and Saturday night. Henrietta and Matt were in early on Saturday to get everything prepared. Their team was incredible. After the ceremony, Henrietta greeted us with champagne and a congratulations. When cocktail hour ended and we realized we were so busy that we didn’t even eat our appetizers, Henrietta put together a plate for us and brought it over.
I’ve heard from a number of guests that the food was the best they’ve had at a wedding, and I agree.
It’s important to note that the staff was also FUN to have around. Bartenders and servers interacted with guests and kept the energy light and fun.
The next morning, Matt prepared a great breakfast (much needed) for those staying at the Vanderbilt, even including some leftovers of our banana pudding dessert from the night before.
Now let’s quickly talk about the space. The Vanderbilt Lakeside is the most unique space I’ve ever seen. Each room has its own personality and is decorated meticulously and beautifully. I only had to bring in decorations for the tables, as the venue itself was already perfect. The deck was a perfect fit for our 90-person dinner. The lawn, outdoor bar, and lawn games were a hit for those who wanted to chill out rather than dance. The Bar room was the perfect size for our musicians and a dance floor. The rooms upstairs are clean, all about the same size, and all have their own bathrooms to make for a comfortable stay.
Overall, I cannot recommend the Vanderbilt enough. We’re racking our brains for an excuse to host another event there. Henrietta and Matt are incredible to work with!

Dora and I got married at Vanderbilt Lakeside on June 1. We rented the whole hotel for some of our guests and we hosted a welcome event on Friday and the wedding on Saturday. We were blessed with good weather but also with a beautiful venue supported by excellent staff. Henrietta, the owner and manager, was perfect regarding communication, expectations, and support. Matt, the other owner and chef, cooked a feast to be remembered for ages. Overall, I highly recommend this venue for your wedding, or simply for a family weekend getaway. Thank you Henrietta, Matt, and the rest of the staff.

My now-wife and I held our wedding here on 5/18 and stayed the weekend with our wedding party plus their guests, so 15 total. The wedding reception itself was 50 people total. The food received compliments from everyone I spoke to about it. We went with this venue because of how nice the house and backyard area were for holding a wedding reception/ceremony, and it felt reasonably priced for a wedding venue. Working with Henrietta and the rest of their staff was a positive experience.Rooms: The beds were surprisingly comfortable and each room having an A/C unit was very appreciated. We did not go out on it, but our room had access to a balcony. Only downside of the rooms was that we ran out of hot water whenever there was a large amount of people showering around the same time of day. Not really sure how to avoid that, outside of an extremely oversized setup.

I can't say enough AMAZING things about The Vanderbuilt Inn. I stayed there this past weekend with 14 of my best friends for my bachelorette party. The house vibes were incredible, super spacious kitchen , living spaces, and a beautiful outdoor space for enjoying the sun. We had so much fun enjoying karaoke in the living room, eating pizza on the porch, and overall celebrating with my best friends for this very special time in my life. Also best part is that each room had a bathroom which was so important for the girls to have for getting ready before we got into our party bus and headed to Cirque Du Soleil.BOOK the Vanderbilt ! You'll enjoy your stay ! I promise.

We got married at Vanderbilt Lakeside in August 2023 and had a wonderful experience working with Henrietta and Matt after stumbling upon the venue on Airbnb. It was meant to be because we later figured out that we had frequented Henrietta’s bar, Night of Joy, in Brooklyn when we first started dating and her amazing aesthetic really comes through. We had our closest friends stay with us at the house for the weekend and hosted 100 guests. The look and feel of the space is uniquely chic and quirky all at once with beautiful modern and vintage accents. It's quite whimsical which makes for awesome wedding photos - we didn’t need any additional decor, except for flowers. The backyard/deck space and lakeside views were exquisite in late summer sunshine. The day of our wedding the rain held out for us and we were able to have our ceremony on the lawn, facing the lake and had dinner under a tent on the deck with additional seating in the adjacent room with the sliding doors fully open, and dancing in the bar room under the disco ball. The lawn games and pool table added to the summery and fun atmosphere.Henrietta was very clear in her communication, very responsive, patient throughout our planning process from beginning to end, and offered recommendations for other vendors and services, which were really helpful to us. Henrietta and Matt were also super helpful and flexible in assisting us with our food and beverage selections, answering our many many questions, and providing staff (who were all friendly and professional) when needed. All of the food was truly excellent and everything was served on time. The grilled cheese sandwiches and handcut fries we had as afterparty snacks were a massive hit. Henrietta was also around and available to assist throughout our wedding weekend, which we really appreciated and she communicated well with all of our vendors. We’re so grateful that we found Vanderbilt Lakeside and will forever cherish the memories of our wedding there. We highly recommend it!

Henrietta and Matt are amazing! They have created a beautiful and eclectic place for a large group to stay comfortably and visitors should definitely take advantage of their culinary skills by hiring them to cook a gourmet meal. The leftovers kept everyone happy the next day and we all went around taking pictures of the decor to inspire our own home decorating! The setting is private and nestled next to a pretty pond where the pup I was allowed to bring loved romping. Three stars for location only if you’re looking for a more bustling town but the general area makes for a very pretty drive. Highly recommend!Rooms: Cute, modern, comfortableNearby activities: Local eateries for take out or eat inWalkability: Sidewalks along main drag with shopsFood & drinks: Amazing catered food option and bar layout for socializing
