Quick stop after a walk from Central Park over de Queensboroughbridge. Cocktail and wine were good, pizza Margarita also. The staff ( bartender ) was a nice guy. Took the time to talk with us. Gave some interesting places to visit. I would go back!
I was excited to try Massa's, but was underwhelmed. Service was good, nice waitstaff. Crust and cheese were good. But sauce lacked (any!) seasoning. Literally had to shake salt on my slice ... who does that?!!! Nicely flavored sauce is sooo important! Toppings were eh. Carmelized onions were undercooked, large pieces on basil burned, sausage overcooked and rubbery. Was looking forward to reviewing this pizza. I rate it a 3 out of 5. Good not great. The cheese and dough were good but the sauce was too acidic and bitter and tasted alot like tomato paste. Also when we received pie they gave it to us cold!! The brunette hostess was too busy talking to a friend at the bar that she was sooooo slow with the customers. When pizza came to us it was cold. Defintely was not happy as we waited a long time to get it. So they put it back in the oven....
