Food served borderline cold. When we told the staff, they said they would fix it. And it was brought back colder. We couldn’t tell our waitress because we never saw her after we placed our orders—

Our dishes were missing ingredients, when we asked where the topping was for the rice they asked “did you want that on top?” Well yeah! That’s why I ordered the item 🤣 The salads were not flavorful, all of the vegetables were underripe so it tasted like nothing. The kebab trays were great, just completely cold.

Overall the food was good once we could bring it home to reheat it. But, that is subpar service.

I can’t say enough good things about Ravagh Persian Grill in Huntington. As an Afghani, I’ve been on the hunt for Middle Eastern, Persian, and Afghani food that hasn’t lost its authenticity over the years. So many places cut corners, but Ravagh truly surprised me - in the best way.

I dined in at the Huntington location, and everything was phenomenal. The kebabs were tender, flavorful, and perfectly cooked, and the quality of the food was evident in every bite. I also really appreciated how knowledgeable the staff were about my gluten allergy (gf) - they let me know that none of the kebabs contained gluten, which gave me peace of mind and made the experience that much more enjoyable.

Ravagh is one of those rare spots that works for any occasion: it’s perfect for a family dinner, a celebration, or even a quick meal when you’re craving something satisfying and fresh. I left already planning my next visit.

If you’re looking for authentic, high-quality Persian food on Long Island, this is the place.

I hate to even write this, but it needs to be said. I cannot stand tipping culture, and tonight at Ravagh in Huntington just proved my point all over again.

I went with my family, ordered 3 entrées, 2 appetizers, and a dessert. The bill? $150. Yes, that’s steep for some meat and rice dishes, but fine—I get it. Food is expensive everywhere now, inflation is out of control, and I’m not complaining about that part. However, the beef steak were chewy, did not feel like premium or quality beef. Hummus was subpar, I've had better. Lamb chops were nothing to write home about - they were okay. Cherry rice and the chicken kabab was great.

What I am upset about is what happened after. I paid the $150 and left a $12 tip. Sure, I understand that’s not a “big” tip on a bill that size, but I’ve never been a big tipper. I don’t believe in tipping the cost of another entrée just for someone to bring plates to a table - that should all be a part of the cost of running a business and having an expensive menu. Minimum wage for restaurant workers in New York is nearly $18 an hour, and food prices are already through the roof.

But here’s the upsetting part: after taking my signed receipt, the server actually came back to my table. She tells me she KNOWS the service was great and flat out asks if the $12 was a mistake—then points at the “suggested” $25 tip and says that I am SUPPOSED TO TIP THAT.

That right there ruined the whole experience. As a worker, let me say this: never—EVER—walk back to a customer to shame them into giving you more tip. Take what you’re given and move on.

Honestly, I’d rather put my money toward a charity or donate to people who actually need it—like people of Palestine—than hand it over because someone guilt-tripped me at a dinner table. A $12 tip is more than reasonable for dropping off three entrées. If you don’t like your pay, that’s between you and your boss. Push for higher wages, or have the restaurant add a mandatory service charge. But don’t beg customers for more. It’s embarrassing.

I can promise you this: I will never bring my family back here nor would I recommend it to anyone else. Server haggled me for more tip in front of my kids and my family - it was embarrassing.

There are plenty of other places with comparable food at lower prices—and they don’t make you feel like garbage for not tipping “enough.”

Very disappointed, I went last night with my family to the restaurant I ordered jujeh kabob the price in menu was $27 but girl charged me $31 and total bill was $72 and some change. I asked girl to correct the price and next bill she bring $94 when I checked the bill she add $24 fee on it. I did say anything just paid and left. Just be careful when you pay bill also food was horrible.
