Had a great experience here, our waiter whom I forgot the name was an amazing person who explained to us how they came up with the name of the establishment and told us a bit about the Mexican history and the Donna ferry town. We had the guacamole which it was great and the frozen margarita was delicious. We didn’t try food because we just stop by for drinks. Love the decor and the place. Will definitely stop by again!!!

Stopped for late lunch with my friend Ellen after walking from Dobbs Ferry. We were thirsty and hungry so we were delighted by the prompt and friendly service provided by Valentin. We sat outside at one of the cute shaded tables. The menu offered familiar Mexican dishes (e.g., tacos enchiladas, carne asada, etc) beautifully presented. We found the food delicious and fresh. We had the cactus salad, vegetable enchilada suiza con salsa verde, and the huaraches with steak. The prices were somewhat on the high side, but I think they were at par with other restaurants in the Irvington/Dobbs Ferry area. I will definitely return to the Chinita Poblana.
Vegetarian options: Dishes that had an option regarding type of meat to be added provide a vegetable option.

The service was super-slow and the food was not good. They needed 10 minutes to deliver a sprite, 25 minutes to deliver guacamole and over an hour for 2 entrees. Empty at 7PM on a Tuesday for good reason.

The view when sitting outside is spectacular! The service is friendly and attentive. The drinks take a little long to come out but are delicious!! We had the Al Pastor tacos, very tasty, but my favorite dish is the chicken caldo even on a hot day. The food is always solid and consistent. A nice place to have a snack and a good drink while looking at the beautiful Palisades.

Good drinks, mediocre Mexican, slow service, forgetful, overcharged for items that I didn’t order. When I questioned the bill the waiter blamed Covid and told me I should read the menu. Pricing is different each time as I dined here 3x. I tried to give it another chance but you’ll leave feeling bamboozled. Adios for good! Go somewhere else, don’t waste your money or time with the smarmy waiters here. 2 thumbs down.

While our food was very good there were other problems with this establishment. Food was overpriced & drink prices were outrageously expensive! I asked for very little ice & of course my drink arrived with more ice than liquid & was finished before my main dish arrived so I ordered another . They upcharged the drink price which I complained about . I asked for hot sauce which arrived in a little cup & was charged for that . They don't indicate these things when you place your order. You should be informed in advance. Their prices in general are more expensive than 5 star Mexican restaurants in New York City. We won't be returning & were horrified by our bill!

We did not have a great experience.Food price point was inflated due to Cinco De Mayo. Menu had incorrect pricing we were charged an additional $4 each for a tacos platter. We were not informed of the up charge until we received our bill.Service was relatively slow despite the establishment being practically empty.Menu is extremely limited and items are overly priced.Drinks were decent.
