“This is an authentic African restaurant, so I would go with someone who knows your taste. My Nigerian friend took us there, and he recommended the dishes. I love the rice and goat (different from my Jamaican flavor). My friend, she had rice and chicken. They were delicious. Something different. Go taste ?. PS. The place is not large but quient and cozy. Staff and owner are very friendly.“

“I got the okra+spinach w/ spicy goat. It was out of this world. The owner gave me a call a few minutes after I made the order to let me know they were out of fufu (pounded yams) and replaced it with yellow rice. I enjoyed the goat — it has a kick but not overwhelmingly spicy. The choice I made was excellent. I am most definitely ordering again and hope I can try the fufu next time.“

“This is by far the best Nigerian restaurant in all of New York. You can never have a bad experience here. I travel from Harlem to eat here almost 1 hour on train & foot. Many of the restaurants in NY are hit or miss. Making food too American or Caribbeanized, lacks effort, or overly posh to where the food is inauthentic or underwhelming for the price. If you want REAL Nigerian food, family environment, great portions come here! Especially if you’re an Amala lover like me.“

“Food is always great. I lovvvee the snail. Please please cook the meet a little longer. My teeth is fighting for their life trying to bite through them. They are too tough. Otherwise, Egusi and Efo are delicious. The beans are so good! Anytime I’m in the city I always stop by! 🥰“
“Great Senegalese/West African food with huge portions at decent prices. We were shocked at the amount of food we got for $20 (enough for at least 2 meals). While the ambience of the shop might not be great or the staff super friendly, the food and price is what makes it great and why I would recommend it.
The options are usually a protein and a carb and the protein portion is big, fowl would be an entire fowl, fish would be an entire fish etc. The carb options were vermicelli, couscous, rice, fries etc. They also have West African drinks.
We loved the fowl and fried fish and the vermicelli side the most.“
“One of the few places in NYC where you can find food from Guinea! Definitely worth traveling up to the Bronx to eat off jalloh’s massive buffet, where breadth is matched by depth in flavor. The food remains high quality (fresh, not too greasy or salty), even at 11:30pm when I visitedI particularly loved the Dhapa et Folêrê , a Guinean grits dish, where the corn is fresh ,fragrant, and unbelievably variegated in texture. You can also choose to eat the folêrê with dishes like bourakhé (cassava leaves stewed in palm oil and smoked fish), a winning combo that delicately juxtaposes the stew's smoke and heat with the mellow and earthy flavors of the grits. Or if you’re craving the smooth and silky texture of okra, there’s maffi gumbo that pairs very well with grits. The options here are endless..“

“The customer service was great. I bought the grilled lamb with a side of salad. You're given a generous portion of meat. De-lic-cous! The salad was crisp and tasted fresh with the vinaigrette. The lamb tasted freshly grilled with the right amount of seasoning. The ginger/pineapple juice was mouthwatering spicy but gooooooooood ?? ? ? This was my first time trying this spot and this type of food. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal. I will definitely be coming back again. I shared this place with some people and now they claim it as one of their new eating spots to try. I also did not feel heavy after eating although it was animal protein. I took the time to take pictures of my meal, others just wanted to eat it and forgot all about taking pictures. ?“

“The girl answering the phone call for orders should be taught English because it’s absurd how we in America and she can’t understand simple English when ordering food. You’ve to get an English speaking person to be answering the phone.

“Best Senegalese restaurant in the Bronx. The only other place to get authentic Senegalese food is 116th street, and everything else in The Bronx is fusion style restaurants. If you want to feel like your eating Dibi on the beach in Yoff, this is the place too be“

“A great lineup of African cuisine options. As a picky eater, I usually stick to what I know but this time I wanted to try something different and I was pleased. The white rice with goat meat stew was good; I’m not a fan of spicy food so the savory flavors were put together very well. The plantain that I had added to the dish, gave it exactly what it needed. This is not my first time at the location so I can identify that the service could be better and more hospitable. I’m a person that likes to ask questions before purchasing or before inputting food into my body so I appreciate when people take the time to be attentive. Besides that, I will likely be trying their food again as they have a wide selection ranging from meats and stews to different starches.“
