This was my first time coming here from Connecticut and I loved their food I was looking for pure authentic African food and here is where I found it ...the staff was super awesome and friendly I would definitely return when I visit new york again.
The environment wasn't the best but the food and services made an impact.
They serve good quality Nigerian food and their services are quick 👌

African Pride is a popular Nigerian restaurant in NYC known for serving authentic and flavorful dishes. The menu includes traditional meals such as Jollof rice, ogbono, esgui, okra stew, mixed meat, snails, shaki, and goat meat, with inventive food options. The restaurant is praised for its fantastic and consistently delicious food, especially for Amala lovers, and offers generous portions. Customers often travel from far away to enjoy the good, real Nigerian food in a family-like environment and good atmosphere. The staff is friendly, welcoming, and provides great service with genuine courtesy and kind interactions. While service can be slow because the food is made from scratch, the quality and taste make it worthwhile. The restaurant provides plenty of street parking and wheelchair access, making it a safe and comfortable place for Africans and first-generation Nigerian Americans to enjoy good food and good vibes.
