Hidden Gem in Wine Country!

Out of the four tasting rooms we visited, Jamesport Tasting Room was hands down the standout! Not only did we enjoy a fantastic wine tasting (the Petit Verdot, Merlot, and Italian Lagrein were all delicious), but the value here is unbeatable. Unlike most wineries in the area, Jamesport actually offers a discount when you buy bottles directly—no price gouging or sticker shock. It’s refreshing to support a local business that doesn’t make you choose between great wine and your budget.

Bonus points for the goat cheese and sausage pizza—crispy, flavorful, and the perfect pairing with our tasting. The vibe is relaxed, welcoming, and refreshingly unpretentious compared to some of the more "exclusive" spots nearby.

If you’re in the area and want excellent wine without the inflated prices, Jamesport is a must. Highly recommend!

Overall amazing experience!

Ambiance - Rustic feel, wood cabin

Service - very friendly staff, work well together, very patient

Wine tasting - individual pour in separate glasses with a good explanation of notes; wines severed were very good

Food - quirky kitchen staff but great food

We dropped in, on this winery on one of the coldest days in December, thus far. No walking through the vinyards, no listening to music, we were just getting such an A1 experience with Kim, as she gave us an intimate wine tasting experience, and interesting history about the winery. The Merlot Bloc was our favorite, not to mention that we felt so comfortable and welcome there.

We just went there on the recommendation of a friend and I can't recommend it enough! Our waitress was incredibly knowledgeable about the wines and was super accommodating. The wines were great and the food was delicious. We'll definitely be back!

I normally love this place and frequent it regularly. However today I came in with my service dog. Before being seated I was asked if she was a service animal. I replied yes and then I was asked what my disability is. I responded that I am a veteran and I do not wish to disclose my disability. She then told me I must disclose my disability which I know is not true. To save myself further embarrassment in the lobby I disclosed my disability. The waitress rolled her eyes and sat us. After being seated I saw a small dog in a stroller & realised that I was targeted. I will not come here again.

Too bad we couldn’t enjoy the experience since they are not allow babies /kids on the weekend, very snobbish attitude - we were happy to spend out money somewhere else.

The hostess was very rude and short with us. We had friends stop by and she was short with us asking us to close out while we were still enjoying our food. The manager and our server were very nice.

The manager Brie took care of us after we talked to her. Definitely recommend this vineyard.

Enjoyed this Italian style pizza. Staff were amazing as well.

Great food, great service, good wine. We did a flight of red, flight of white, and a wood fired pizza. Unlike some of the vineyards around here this place does not take itself too seriously and charge prices that are insanely high given the quality of the wine. Jamesport has a solid selection of wines, offers discounts for buying bottles in bulk, and has a beautiful facility that prioritizes fun over pretension. I’ve had better pizza and I’ve had better wine but no place around here hits the trifecta of good food and wine at a good price as well as Jamesport.

I was given notice the day before our visit that we were having a “Family” Day and would have lunch on the patio here. My first thought was, Oh great (forcing a smile), lunch on a patio in 90 degree heat and humidity……
I loved it from the minute we walked through the front door.
Warmly greeted at the door and led through the indoor wine bar and tables that had a nostalgic, old timey feel, to the back patio where our table was. Although it was a hot, humid July summer day there was a nice little breeze that swept across the patio. When it stopped, we asked if the ceiling fans to be put on and without hesitation our waiter accommodated the request. We started with a Red wine flight, oven warmed olives and ricotta with apple appetizers. Both apps were fantastic. My wife and daughter each got their own wood fired pizza, I opted for the Charred Octopus. Nothing but good things to say about all 3 meals (I sampled each pizza). Food was excellent. Now to the back area which is impressive by itself. Off the patio there was plenty of shaded areas to sit, eat, drink and be merry. The yard is beautifully landscaped with lots of flower boxes and trees, they even have a Bocce Ball court. Plenty of great scenery to get loads of great pictures. We all had a nice experience here and would surely recommend this to anyone who enjoys the outdoor dining scene or a “Family” day trip on the North Fork. I know we will be returning for sure.

It was an enjoyable experience and they were accommodating as I use a rollator for mobility. Pizza is very good and their white wine very nice. Not sure how other food items mentioned in other posts but photos looked good even though unidentified. Saw the octopus and the shrimp and meatballs. But others not too sure. Give it a try. Outdoor seating was a plus factor. Will come again over and over.
