The food is lovely. HOWEVER, it is extremely overpriced! For example, I ordered a Caesar salad with grilled shrimp. For $27 I literally got 4 small leaves of romaine lettuce (Really?!) and 4 shrimps. Another time, I ordered the baby lamb chops appetizer, which I was told would be a reasonable portion for dinner. Indeed they were delicious; HOWEVER, it was $47 for 3 baby lamb chops. Truth be told, for the very rustic atmosphere (some outdoor tables are even splintery!) and high prices, it is not the best choice on the North Fork. Very disappointing.

Our party arrived to this hidden gem without prior knowledge of what this establishment offered. It was our first time there and it was beyond our expectation! Pattie, the owner was involved and present during our brunch. Pattie took the time to chat with us and her authentic nature is noted. The bartender Neil was wonderful. His warmth, care and efficiency certainly added to our positive experience. The restaurant had a large event during our time there and we felt attended to the entire time. We are certain to return!!!

Loved this hidden gem in Jamesport! My husband and I ordered the crab cakes as our appetizer- best crab cakes we ever had! Then for dinner he had the pork chop- which was excellent, and I got the whole branzino! We shared the rice, truffle fries & broccolini. We sat outside and brought our dog, it was great! Service was friendly and nice! 0 complaints!

Watershed is extraordinary and we give it our highest recommendation! I spent over a decade cooking in restaurants, so I’m not easily impressed. We came little to no expectations and we left floored. We had beautiful outdoor table on a great night. The server and bus people were perfect. All the food was great but the Seabass and the Scallops were next level. In all my years cooking and dining, I do not think I have had a better cooked and prepared piece of seabass. Perfectly crisp on the outside and flaky and moist on the inside. The owners James and Patricia are super nice and warm and they made us feel so welcome. We cannot wait to go back!!!

I haven’t eaten at this restaurant yet because unfortunately when you make reservations weeks in advance for a party of 6 and confirm multiple times thereafter, it still does not mean you will be assured to have a table reserved. My girlfriend reserved a table a month ago for her birthday and had checked a couple times to make sure the reservation went through. It showed it had. Luckily she called today to confirm (the event is tomorrow) and was told there was no reservation! And as if that wasn’t bad enough, when my girlfriend asked what would have happened if we all showed up tomorrow, the girl who answered the phone had the audacity to say, “Well isn’t it good that we are speaking today?” No, it wasn’t good. None of it was good. Very unprofessional. Wondering if I’ll ever eat there now. Word to the wise, confirm your reservation if you dare to make one.

Be careful when you make reservations at this place. They don’t honor them. I made reservations over a month in advance for a birthday lunch celebration. I called three times to confirm (have the phone records) my reservation. They told me I was confirmed. I then called 24 hours before just to make sure bc people were coming from out of town and they told me that they couldn’t find my reservation and that there was nothing they could do?!?! They told me that they are a small place and that there are already two parties already there at that time. I honestly think that they canceled my reservation to honor the bigger parties. I never had this happen to me before and I always honor my reservations when I make them. Extremely unprofessional and unacceptable. They don’t take OpenTable or Resy so call and book at your own risk.

Very curious as to how this restaurant scored a 4.6, and because we relied on the reviews, we were terribly disappointed. The service was scattered with one server covering the entire dining room - resulting in a lot of confusion. We were greeted twice before we were seated, asked twice for water preferences, ordered drinks, asked again about drinks - before the server realized she already spoke with us and stopped herself mid sentence. Minutes later, she came back and asked to us remind her of what we ordered!

French onion soup was bland (and came out before the drinks). Both the Branzino and skirt steak were overcooked. The broccolini was forgotten, came out late, and much too oily (this item was comped). Presentation was sloppy.

Everyone was very nice, but the execution was a failure all around. Also, very strange that an unreasonable number of dishes included chimichurri. Maybe that should have tipped us off. Would not recommend.

This place is an absolute hidden gem! Every visit somehow feels even more special than the last. James and Patty go above and beyond to make you feel genuinely welcome—they treat you like family from the moment you walk in. Bartender Greg is always ready with a warm smile and friendly conversation that instantly puts you at ease, like you’ve known him for years.

The entire staff is incredibly kind, attentive, and accommodating. And the food? Incredible. Every dish we’ve tried has been consistently delicious, making it hard to pick a favorite.

What we love most is the warmth and sense of community this place brings. It’s more than just a restaurant—it truly feels like a home away from home, surrounded by amazing people who feel like friends.
