Classic, retro interior (original fixtures and decor, but all kept very clean) and friendly staff. Hot dogs and hamburgers were solid.

last time I was there, which is about 15 years ago. It was great so I will let you know if it's still Liz I'm hoping it still is.

Chili dog was OK but not as spectacular as others described. The owner was not friendly. He couldn't even muster a "hello" even though there was only one other customer in the place who was already served. He was more like a disgruntled employee rather than the owner. People refer to the charm of the diner. Actually, it looks dumpy from the outside and feels even dumpier indoors. It looks like the owner hasn't spent a cent on taken care of the place for the past 3 or 4 decades. I suspect that his overhead is very low and accordingly his prices should be low. Since prices are not that low and food is ordinary, you might do better elsewhere.
This is the best dive food in Johnson City. The best chili cheeseburgers are here. Cash only. No frills, nothing fancy, just great food.

Amazing hotdogs! Best I’ve had and I’ve been to a lot of places. No extra fake selling points just straight to the food which is great. Cleanest place I’ve been to

Owner served us even thou the place was all cleaned up and closed. Can't wait to come again.

I made it to Tony's Texas Hots. Disappointed with the chili dog. Not enough flavor, not very big and cost $2.85 for a dog and $1.50 for a soda can.

Been going here for over 50 years. Chili dogs are GREAT, exactly like they have been since the beginning. What has changed is the pricing, WOW! Chili dog, fry, coke $10??. And "Pete", the owner, out-door-voice opinionated tyrant, depressed and miserable one day, giddy and screaming and laughing the next. Go for the expensive but good retro-chili-dog, stay for the show, you never which version will show up.
