Katonah Reading Room Reviews
Mid-ride fuel stop at the Reading Room.
The atmosphere is very nice and quaint and the staff are very friendly, but the food is WAYYYYY overpriced. I bought 2 chicken salad sandwiches, 1 chai latte, and 1 kombucha and it cost $45. The chai was pretty good, the kombucha was flat, and the chicken salad sandwiches were pre-made and mediocre with very little filling. You'd think for a $14 sandwiches you'd get plenty of chicken salad in the sandwhich, but in this case there was the minimal amount to classify it as a sandwich.

Katonah Reading Room is a charming and cozy bookstore that offers an amazing food menu and delicious aromatic coffee. This non-corporate space has a welcoming and safe atmosphere, with a rainbow flag hanging over the front porch. The store appeals to both kids and adults, featuring an eclectic collection of books, cards, and art supplies, as well as a featured book section for upcoming speakeasy events.
The food menu at Katonah Reading Room includes vegetarian options, such as the Veggie Thai Peanut salad, described as delicious with a spectacular dressing. While some recent reviews note that they no longer appear to be offering their full food menu, the coffee bar remains a highlight, especially the hot lattes, which are delicious, creamy, and smooth with divine chocolate notes. The staff is always welcoming and kind, making the atmosphere even more enjoyable. The cozy space, which includes wonderful seating on the front porch, and the combination of good coffee and great food make it a Katonah favorite.
The store has ample parking in the back lot, accessible from the front street, though parking can be challenging on weekends. While the space may not be the most wheelchair-friendly, with front and back steps, it is considered kid-friendly, with a small toys section and a great selection of children's books and art supplies. The store also hosts weekly book clubs and encourages customers to request any book they want, enhancing the community feel.
