Very good food and a warming and welcoming atmosphere. The service was also top-notch. Our waiter was excellent. We hope to be back to relax by the fire in the comfy chairs someday, perhaps for a drink and some appetizers. The owners did a great job setting up the restaurant. It had some awesome Adirondack art work and north woods themed decor. It didn't feel crowded and didn't feel empty either. My wife and I look forward to going back.

This out of the way place is a gem in the rough! Sadly this group of 4 have had 3 previous outings where the food has been mediocre at best. Good restaurants are few in Rural areas even with lots of Tourists visiting. This place is not good it is great. We all had the special Valentine’s day meal.It consisted of soup, or salad, the entree, desert and wine, or champagne. Everything from the unique salads to the desert was prepared to perfection. The Lobster tail was luscious. Roasted and covered with a delicious brown butter. The sides were perfect as well. The 4 of us absolutely were amazed and thrilled to find this restaurant. Service was excellent. Mixed drinks before dinner were also very good. We all highly recommend this place. We will be returning soon. Well worth the 45 minute drive to get there.

Everything was delish- burger was just slightly overcooked. Beautiful interior, great service. We had both burgers, the Arugula Salad (my fave along with the hand-cut fries), Winter Salad, and Cheeseburger Soup.

Nice, warm atmosphere with incredibly kind, fast and attentive service. Great place to warm up after hiking in the cold.We liked our food - big portions, fresh ingredients. The calamari with the tomatoes was especially delicious. The fries were slightly overdone / crisp but the burger was really good!

Service was good. Atmosphere was good. Waitress was friendly. Ordered a steak and for a 50.00 steak I expected a better steak. Came with bone and a lot of fat on the opposite side. It also had fries and some kind of broccoli substitute. Not what I expected with a 50.00 steak. Was cooked to order as I wanted.

Atmosphere was amazing we sat in the back with views of the mountains. We just got done hiking all day and wanted soup luckily for us. They had a mushroom and cream soup we order before our main dish the soup was amazing the best mushroom soup I have ever had. The main dishes we order was two Baxter mountain burger and a buttermilk fried chicken sandwich. They were very good we will definitely be back and we will highly recommend this restaurant.

We stopped for dinner while visiting but this seems like a popular local spot for a nice evening out. The venue is beautiful with something interesting and tasty on the menu for everyone. It seems like there is some passion behind their offerings. It is a bit expensive, but there isn't much competition in the area.

What a great place!!! We had a very large dinner group of about 20, they sat us in the back room at 3 nice size tables. The waitress Chloe, was absolutely delightful and knowledgeable about everything on the menu. The Calamari was amazing, and as I asked Chloe about her recommendation for the Wild bore bolognese, she was right on! It was fantastic! Dessert was a chocolate soufflé with a secret sauce that complimented perfectly. We sent many compliments to Kate, the cook, who obviously knows her way around a kitchen. We’d been there for lunch earlier in the season on the porch, and we will definitely be back on our next trip to Keene Valley.

Our waitress, Ann Mary was fantastic. The food all came out pretty quick. My wife got the burger and it was perfectly cooked. I had gotten the fried chicken sandwich and it was also good. I'm very happy I had gotten extra fries with my meal because they're really awesome fresh cut ones. We also got the nachos and they were pretty good, as a guy who likes spice i wish they had more jalapeños but the queso made up for it. The back of the restaurant had a beautiful view of the mountains, so I'd recommend making a reservation and asking to sit by the windows.

We visited here last week on our trip through the Adirondacks. We didn’t have a reservation but they were able to seat us at the bar. We had the burgers and Mac n cheese and both were very good. This is one of the better restaurants in the area.

Based on just one visit:Nice clean place, great service, just OK food.Good selection of beer, wine, full service bar.Our meals were just OK; Nachos below average; Salmon was cooked perfect but was over-seasoned; All of our burgers were quite overcooked vs. our requested done-ness. Nothing to write home about considering the prices.I'd eat here again lacking other better local alternatives.

I am going to be honest, this food was laughable at best. I got the buttermilk chicken sandwich and it was black! How do you plate a chicken that is so burnt and tell yourself it’s okay. I sent it back and it was slightly less burnt but still very bad. My boyfriend’s food was also burnt. This wouldn’t be such a big deal if the prices weren’t so much money! They charge premium prices for horrible quality food. They don’t even make any of the deserts in house. It is just embarrassing. The only reason I leave this place with two stars instead of one was because of the waitress we had. The staff are so friendly and helpful. This place is beautiful as well! The food is just beyond terrible especially for these prices.

Three of us for birthday dinners. Husband had steak which he pronounced to be tender and flavorful. Vegetarian son had mac and cheese. Another winner. Fish tacos and brussels sprout/bacon side for the third dinner was equally yummy. Make reservations. Relaxed and friendly.
