Great food and service! Pepper crusted salmon was fabulous and Veal Scallopini was exceptional! Warm goat cheese cake salad was fabulous with a delicious vinaigrette. Service was attentive and experienced and the tables are spaced far enough apart that you can hear each other. Kingston is fortunate to have a restaurant like this in uptown.

I've been attending this restaurant for 30 years and it has gone from great to meh. The best this evening was the warm goat cheese appetizer. It was perfectly warmed, the right amount of ingredients, a fine potato medley, textured walnuts, and delicious vinaigrette. It went downhill from there. Escargot was overcooked and the garlic was burnt. The duck confit was not carefully brined and then it was overcooked and was like chewing sinewy jerky but no flavor of succulent duck at all. The cheesecake dessert was not fresh and the crème brûlée topping was burnt. The place was packed and service was slow- they needed more help serving guests. I will be heading to the Brasserie in Poughkeepsie for my french food... enough of suffering through another disappointing meal at Le Canard!

I was really looking forward to taking my husband here on his birthday. We love french food, so we were excited. The food was good, very good in fact but the service was subpar. I was never asked if i wanted another drink, no water service, no follow up. Took 30 minutes to clear our dirty plates..... It was very disappointing. I am a part time resident in the area and will not return. There are so many other options.

We have been to La Canard on several occasions, and we have never been disappointed. The drinks are absolutely scrumptious! If you've ever wondered what a well made martini tastes like, this is a terrific place to try one. I highly recommend the Vesper Martini...3 parts gin to 1 part vodka with Lillet and lemon garnish! For MYE, we went here for a late night gourmet meal. I started with an incredible thick and flavorful lobster bisque (taking a break from one of my favorites there...the French onion soup!) My entree was the braised lamb shank with roasted tomato in a port raisin sauce. My fiancee started with an Arugula salad and a delicious special that consisted of scallops over spinach. Every bite was delicious!! It literally felt as if we were back eating in a high end restaurant in Paris...in fact this was even better than some of the meals we had there. Our waitress was also fantastic. Highly attentive and funny! So if you're in the mood for a bit of delicious French cuisine right here in Hudson Valley, I highly recommend giving Le Canard a try.

I had dinner while passing through. It was a Monday and full, so make a reservation (I ate at the bar). Very cute place and friendly and efficient staff. I ate a really good salad of fennel, pear, and blue cheese. An excellent tarte tatin with vanilla ice cream and a perfect espresso. Good wines by the glass. And a decent duck confit (overpriced and strangely with fruit). Also, very good baguette and butter (ask for it at the start). $116 + tip.

All our lunch choices were delicious, from the cream of mushroom soup to the nicoise salad, the chicken cordon bleu special, and the sausages and potato salad. The service was excellent, both professional and considerate, and the holiday vibe ensured a delightful experience.
Everything was great except we were having an anniversary dinner and we were not prioritized to a more private corner by the hostess and bushed off when we commented on it. Shame because we have been a customer for almost 10 years. Still the servers and the food was great as always.

Had been meaning to check this place out for over 3 years and finally did it for my wife's birthday. It was absolutely perfect. The staff were immediately welcoming and warm and the service continued to be friendly and attentive throughout the meal. It really felt like a special night out. And the food!!! Every single thing we ordered was delicious! We had the warm goat cheese cake appetizer, the steak au poivre, and the branzino with key lime pie and apple tart tatin for dessert. Every single thing was amazing. Plus the atmosphere felt like the exact perfect balance between classy but completely cozy and warm--- we were comfortable dressed neatly casual. This will be my new date night go-to for sure!

Worst service by this woman with piercing on her cheeks. Purposely wouldn't make eye contact as she passed by tables to avoid providing service to customers, like we're an inconvenience. Had lamb to go and and she was too lazy to debone the meat and I hardly touch my meal as I was too full from my three appetizers we ordered. When I opened the container, it was a quarter of the content of meal.
