Excellent! What a great find. Definitely off the beaten path in a quiet neighborhood, but definitely worth the trip. We had the roasted brussel sprouts, beet salad and shared the brisket goulash. All we're excellently prepared and had a distinct flavor. Loved the eccentric vibe and attention to detail. Would definitely recommend!

I love the ambience and decor here. Music is soft enough that you can have a conversation. The potato pancakes and goulash and brussel sprouts are amazing. Their cocktails are very yummy too! (Sadly I left my scarf there but oh well)

Can't beat the cozy vibe and the food and drinks are really really good, too. Fun fun place. You won't be disappointed.

The vibes!!! Cozy. Dimly lit. Eclectic, curated furniture that doesn't feel stuffy. Funky music in the background. An awesome spot for a date or for a hang with a friend or two. The bar seating feels very cozy, which is hard to pull off and not leave you feeling exposed or in the center of everything in a restaurant. There are also so many other cozy nooks in the space that makes all of the seating feel very intimate. The food! Incredible. My boyfriend and I had the two artichoke soup... so delicious and well done. The crispy sunchoke chips and breadcrumbs on top, *chef's kiss*. Also, the cilantro oil shockingly didn't take away from the dish at all. As a non-cilantro lover, I was hesitant about this part, but was pleasantly surprised. We also got the grilled octopus... incredible, yet again. So perfectly cooked, and such an incredible combo with the housemade chorizo and sauces. Lastly, we had the steelhead trout. Beautifully cooked and seasoned perfectly. Honestly, this meal was one to remember and would keep us coming back. The cocktails didn't blow us away at first, but I ended with the Whiskey Tango Foxtrot and it was delicious. I'd try out some wine next time, since it seems they put a lot of focus on that.

Great owners. Eclectic food choices. I miss the Polish Chix soup & the Polish Daisy! Miss the owners more!!!The ambience is magical! However, the music is always far too LOUD! Hard to hold a good conversation. Sometimes it sounds like a Disco from the 80s. Love the LIS

The food was ok and the music was awful. The salad had crasins in it, and the 45 dollar steak was covered in spices but didn't really have much flavor on its own. It came with a side of some tough broccoli raab and some dry roasted potatoes. The music is what really turned me off though. It was like dollar-bin funk and soul music made by the kind of bands you would see playing at a local arts festival or like a brewery opening. Not good old-school music, but the kind of bands made of white guys in their 50s that play in the sterile blues bars of revitalized downtown districts. Hopefully someone else picks the playlist next time.

Moody lighting and cozy ambiance inside. Good artichoke soup, but overpriced for the portion and for being in Kingston (these are Manhattan prices). Was ok overall, except for the broccolini. It was so tough that I chewed and chewed, and the woody stalks never broke down. I don't think they trimmed the stalks at all, and included the inedible parts of the vegetable. The broccolini was also cold. The entire dish was inedible, tough, dry. In the end, for cocktails, meager portions, and expensive prices, I would not come here again unless I was just having drinks that someone else was paying for. The server also coursed our meal--three people's appetizers came out first while the other person's main course did not come out for 45 minutes. ALSO, three people only ordered appetizers for their main course! So the concept of courses was completely irrational, and self-defeating. This was idiotic. Especially since there was only one main course ordered and 4 people at dinner. Didn't the server consider this? It's like a literal understanding of appetizers and mains and coursing that you would learn on your first day at Cheesecake Factory. Fail.

This place is so cute and cozy and the food is amazing. We had the Steelhead Trout and the Shrimp Pasta. The trout was utter perfection. The shrimp pasta was great but a little heavy on the fresh ground pepper. We will definitely be back.

Came in on a recommendation and will be back! We started with cocktails, grilled octopus appetizer, and then moved on to the shrimp pasta and trout entrees. Portions are on the smaller size but they were perfectly cooked. The crispy skin on the trout was absolutely amazing. After another round of cocktails and dessert we left feeling perfectly satisfied and not over fed.

We were so happy with our experience at Lis bar. From the soup to the main, we couldn’t get enough! The staff was very attentive and kind. After taking the first bite, it’s clear that the chef is really masterful at his craft. We will definitely be returning to this tasteful (both in food and design) place.

Great neighborhood spot- easy vibes but with exceptional food and cocktails. Interior bar is beautifully cozy and great for a date or just to hang after a long day. Staff is fun too so you’re always going to leave happier than you came.

The space is absolutely beautiful. They did a wonderful job designing and building it out. I also appreciate their efforts to reach out to industry types. It's both smart and an often-overlooked crowd.I genuinely wish for this place's sucess. With all that said- the menu is a mess and the service (when I was there) was less than great. The place has touted itself as polish inspired, but there wasn't one polish themed dish on the menu, nor on the drink menu. The burger comes with kimchi and carmalized onions, something that doesn't make sense to me, as those flavors don't quite work together and also cover each other up. The fries were, I believe sprinkled with truffle oil, another strange choice considering the burger.I wouldn't put kimchi (or anything with genuine heat) on any nicer cut of meat. The whole point of a $$ burger is to really taste the nicer beef, no? (This isn't a knock against kimchi or Korean inspired cooking)The humus was spicy to the point of not being very enjoyable.I don't mind a tighter offering, but there just weren't enough dishes to choose from, especially, smaller, cheaper, shareable fare which would tie into trying to appeal to industry folks. (you've got to do better than adding a highlife and well shot special to the menu)When we arrived, the bartender told us someone would seat us shortly, and even though there were less than five tables occupied, we waited at the entrance for some time until he just sat us himself.I don't really care about that. What I do care about is having the server tell us "Hold on!" when my wife and I began to order as she pulled out a pad and pen and readied herself. Two dishes, two drinks, and we're easy going. Not that hard.I also mind that even though she wrote everything down, the order came out incorrect.I ordered the burger without onions; it came with onions. I also wasn't asked for a temp, which, again, for a $$ burger seems like a misfire. (Or just tell me it comes out X temp, and let me decide)The humus my wife ordered went to another table...? How does that even happen on a two-dish ticket when it's not busy? The (I believe) MOD was nice, apologized, and brought us a new humus. The server never mentioned it, and didn't actually check on the table that often afterward. The check came with options for gratuity starting at 20% and going up to something like 28% which, while I support tipping service folks well, is awfully presumptuous, especially with less than perfect, kind of cold service.I'd like to visit the place again next time we're in the area. Hopefully they will have worked out some of the kinks.
