Ole Savannah was a nice surprise on our visit to Kingston, NY. We came for BBQ, and they delivered! I started with the Smokin' Berries mezcal based cocktail, which was a perfect opening for my meal. The house corn bread was scrumptious. The beef short ribs were some of the best I've had in several years. Great sauces, generous portions. Our server, Meggs, made sure we felt right at home, and was very attentive throughout our meal. Definitely recommend!
My daughter took me out for lunch today and I was definitely surprised. Our server was Lucy who was very pleasant, knowledgeable, helpful, and accommodating. I had the fish and chips. It was great. I can always tell if the fish is frozen so I asked before I ordered. Fish was not frozen and tasted very fresh. It was light, crispy yet melt in your mouth. The breading was not greasy even though it was fried. The chips were fantastic. I love skin on fries and they were next level....
I don’t know. Maybe it was an off night. The service was sort of non-attentive. Not exactly dismissive, and not rude or anything, but just… meh. The food was wildly overpriced. The cornbread came out cold. The brisket was lukewarm and not all that flavorful. Stringy. Tasted like pot roast. Felt like maybe management made some bad choices. Hope they can do better.
