This place makes authentic Italian Heroes the kind I yearn for down state...Mike the owner uses quality meats and cheeses and makes his own Mozzarella...I had an Italian Hero with roasted peppers added and it was as good (maybe better) then the Authur Ave Italian hero I had 3 months ago...I will admit I wish he used a crustier style italian bread but the Fresh Mozzarella sealed this deal...I tore it up and loved every bite...Mike makes every Italian Hero you can think of and he does it with patient love...If you're craving the real flavor of an Italian Hero and other authentic Italian specialties,Salamone's in Kingston, NY is the place to go...

This past weekend we had our son’s birthday catered by Salamone's Italian Foods. The food was delicious and the price was even better. We ordered a 1/2 tray of chicken francese, penne alla vodka, sausage and peppers and a tossed salad. The chicken francese was thin and tender and the francese sauce was a perfect lemony, velvet consistency. Penevodka was so delicious it was a traditional vodka sauce that had an amazing flavor with little pieces of pancetta. Sausage and peppers were out of this world. The peppers and onions were fresh and not over cooked. The sausage had a mild/heat and was also very tender. Lastly the toss salad was fresh and beautifully made with cucumbers, fresh romaine lettuce, peppers and homemade croutons. Communication was a breeze, Annie is fabulous and gets back to you right away. She even delivered the food to our house! We will definitely be ordering with them again!!

Amazing, low key spot with one of the best prosciutto sandwiches I’ve had in years. Bread was great, soft with a little chew with sesame seeds. Meat was sliced on the spot, perfectly thin. Rainbow cookies were also solid.

We ordered lunch for the office today. They got basically all the orders wrong and the food was not fresh. Also don’t say you are out of balsamic vinegar when you have bottles of it on display on your shelves.

This place is relatively new but it's so good! A solid deli that sells Italian specialty foods, including cured meats, a bunch of different olives, raviolis, homemade sauce, and you can get sandwiches made here too. There's also your classic Italian pastries sold here.
What really makes it special is the staff are so friendly and nice treat you like family even when it's your first time here.
the photos they post must be very old. it was depressing in there... my sandwich was ok and all but things felt stale in there and there wasnt any fresh semolina or decent italian preserves. it was a little disappointing but i didnt hate it. i just hope they get their gumption back because the older photos of the place make it look really nice
