We stayed one week at the Cambria Hotel and went to the restaurant 3 times. The food and service were excellent!! I loved the brussels sprouts, but everything was really good.

Currently a guest at Cambria. Came back from a long day hiking and being in town. Specifically chose not to go to the main strip restaurants because I wanted to try it here. Got back to the hotel at 8:15/8:30. Main desk tells me that it’s open and serving until 10. Google listing states that the restaurants serves until 10. I come back after getting settled at 9:10 and the hostess tells me they’re closed. I emphasized that the front desk said they were open and she just sort of rolled her eyes and frustratingly said “yeah I don’t know why they’re even saying that, but sorry we’re closed”. Got a similar response/ was shut down from the bartender too. Had to go out driving around Lake Placid at 9:30 at night trying to find something other than McDonalds on my last night of vacation. Super disappointing and a crappy way to end my time here. Almost seemed like the servers/kitchen just wanted to leave early (why would a place close at 10 on Friday and 9 on Saturday?). It wasn’t even like I came in close to the listed closing time either. It was 10 after 9. Super unprofessional (and surprised that such a large chain hotel would let that happen too). Happy that I didn’t waste my money here earlier in the week and definitely won’t be coming back eat for future trips. If this is a usual occurrence, I wonder how many other hotel guests they drove away by doing that.

We ate there numerous times during our stay. Delicious food and great waitstaff! Food and beverage manager, Jeff, was on top of all details. Thanks for the extra care!
Great little spot! Outdoor seating and the food was delicious. The wait was a little long for the food and for the check. However maybe because the waiter was alone? Not sure if he was.
It got busier as the night went on. We walked in off the street. But will probably stay here on our next lake placid trip. Very nice.
The poutine needed a bit more flavor. Little salty but the chicken sandwich was great!

Sat at a table for 40 minutes, server only got our drink order and never asked if we wanted food. Completely unacceptable considering there was 3 servers and about 2 tables.

The restaurant is located in the Cambria Hotel but they do serve non guests as well. There is also a bar. The dining area is pretty nice. The food is pretty good but service can be slow. I had the scallops special. The scallops were nice and soft and not overcooked. I found the whole entree to be a tad bit salty though but it could have just been that night. The next night, I got the roasted chicken which was delicious and everything was properly seasoned. The green beans were great too.

We had the absolute best service from Kako (Tom). He was very friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. We had the steak and salmon, both were delicious.

My family and I had the pleasure of dining here two nights while staying at the Cambria hotel. The food was fresh and delicious. You will not be disappointed, the staff is friendly and helpful. I will be back in October. I can’t wait. The ambience is everything. I had the Maple Glazed Salmon it was delish.
Parking: The restaurant is inside the hotel so there is ample parking.
Kid-friendliness: The restaurant is very kid friendly. My daughter wanted a Shirley Temple. They have them readymade, but our wait staff had the bartender make it from scratch.
Wheelchair accessibility: It is on the ground floor of the hotel. You can just roll right in.

We only went in for a couple of cocktails and a beer.
The cocktails were excellent. Very impressive.
The ladies working the bar and serving were great.
I can only assume the food is good based on the quality of the cocktails.

The Haystack Bar & Bistro is a wonderful addition to Lake Placid! The views are stunning! If you have an option to be out on the patio, it is the place to be! But I’m sure inside will be cozy during the winter, too! The staff was friendly and professional, the drinks were spot-on and the food was great!! As locals, we are happy for this addition to our community and plan to visit regularly!!
