We decided to drive to Lake Placid for the day take in the fall foliage. We always stop at the Cottage. I had the Lisa, roast beef melted cheese and potato chips. My wife had the Pulled Pork. Both lunches were delicious. The view is amazing looking ? over the water and the surrounding countryside with the fantastic fall colors.
The view was incredible, but the food fell short and was overpriced. I ordered the $30 panzanella salad with shrimp, which was no bigger than a garden salad and tasted like it used frozen shrimp. The sandwiches were also underwhelming. Overall, this isn’t the place to go if you're seeking a great meal, but if you're after stunning views, it’s a perfect spot.
Hostess asked us if we wanted indoor or outdoor dining we chose outdoor then was told it would be 20-30 minute wait. We decided indoor as no wait. When we ordered we were not told what was no longer available until we ordered it. Service was friendly and efficient. Beef sandwich… feh.
