After all the written hype this Chef and Companion took the ride to see for ourselves. Breakfast at 9am with a smile from our waitress. Coffee and tea in a jiff. On to the orders. Companion had the Avocado Toast with 2 sunny side ups and chili crisps (chili oil with deep fried garlic bits). The Toast, I believe was from 2 heels of fresh baked farmers bread but were toasted to a rock (Companion had to use a serrated knife to cut it). Two perfectly cooked eggs and the sliced avocado was spotless and vibrant. The chili oil was pedestrian. On the side, my Companion ordered Maple Sausage that where about 6 inches long and barley a pinky in circumference. The maple flavor was there but the herb(s) were too pronounced and not in a good way. Her entree was $14. and the side of Sausage was $8. (that's pricey). I ordered the Fried Steak and Eggs with Sausage Gravy, I was so looking forward to this.......The "Steak" was a slice of Top Round (I can't say 100% but it wasn't cubed steak) and a little tough with no seasoning and the breading was falling off. This was accompanied by 2 perfect "in & out" eggs. As far as the sausage gravy goes, I really don't know. There was maybe a tablespoons at the most on the plate. One slice of brown rye bread was sliced in half on the plate as well. My breakfast entree in my opinion was to small for the price ($18). This is just our experience. Yours could be different. I rate the food at a 3/5. Service was 4.5/5 and the Ambience was a solid 5/5 (The view out the window was superb). Go and make your own opinion My review is only my opinion. My knowledge comes from being Certified Executive Chef with a 4 year degree from the C.I.A.
i’m hooked on the egg sandwich. Which is too bad because I would love to try a lot of other things. It’s a great place.

Gracie's is such a lovely place, highly recommend! The staff is wonderful and the food is incredible. The vibe is casual and comfortable, and you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Don't miss the sandwiches, chicken and waffles, and donuts :-) LOVE!!

The price for an egg and cheese sandwich is the highest I have ever seen in the Capital District -- $12 + $2 if you want me at with the egg and cheese. There was nothing special about the sandwich. I was with a guest, a friend, who paid the bill. I couldn't stomach it.

First time coming to Gracie’s after seeing the place on a YouTube video got there the place was pretty empty didn’t get acknowledged to get seated took about 10 to 15 mins to be recognized finally got seated the waiter we got was pleasant and very nice however comparing the menu to the one I seen on my phone was totally different the menu on the phone was full of options and when I got the actual menu in person I didn’t see half the options I seen on the phone so with not many options to choose from I order a appetizer for dinner and my friend order a burger with fries and that was the very worse part of the experience it was the food the worse food I have ever tasted in my life i usual can find one good thing at a restaurant unfortunately here there wasn’t one thing I liked at all very overpriced for such low quality food will not be returned back haven’t felt good since i left the establishment

We went to Gracie’s Luncheonette for brunch and absolutely loved it! The mimosas were perfect, and everything we ordered, the brisket and turkey sandwich, the waffles, was delicious. The staff were friendly and attentive, making the whole experience even better. If you’re lucky enough to get a window seat, you’ll have a beautiful view of the stream and the hills behind the restaurant. Such a charming spot.

Don’t know what’s happened to Gracie’s… we would go every Sunday morning and it was always incredible. But the past several visits, food and service has gone downhill massively. Sad to lose such an amazing spot

Horrible experience, If you are of an ethnicity other than white you will be treated differently. My husband and I were sat and told the kitchen was backed up and food was taking a bit longer…. not a problem. The problem is that we were being courteous and not complaining even though it was now 50+ minutes we had been waiting. I notice the table behind us who sat after us started complaining about the delay, so the server who was also our server brings them a complimentary pastry and apologizes. Kind of odd to not extend the same gesture to us especially since despite being frustrated and hungry we purposely did not give the server grief, as we acknowledged this was something that was out of his control. However I guess giving the server a hard time gets you further because ironically their food arrives as we are still without food or even a free pastry to hold us over. The server obviously put their ticket ahead to satisfy the nagging customer. At this point now my husband ask the server why is it that they got their food before us when we have been waiting much longer, then server snaps at him and tells him “it is what it is”. Seems as though the staff chooses to appease the nagging customers over the customers that have been patiently waiting. Shameful behavior.
