“Excellent spot for some Dominican food. Planned on taking pics to leave a review just because the owner and staff was so nice. But once I dug in I completely forgot to get a picture because I just kept eating. She told us she doesn’t use grease to cook the food, and you can tell. It tastes so fresh and good. Will be going on the morning for breakfast while we are in town visiting.“

“I'm fortunate that one of the best Chinese-American restaurants in the 3 Villages area (Amityville, Copiague, and Lindenhurst) is only a block away from my apartment. I have yet to order delivery or take out, simply because I love sitting at the bar with my girlfriend. The food is DELICIOUS, the portions are LARGE, and the staff is always super, super friendly. The owner came over and apologized and gave us free dessert for our patience. Food is always delicious, very clean diner and staff is always very sweet. “Absolutely wonderful! Came in for dinner last night (5/31) and had a great table right by the water. Even though it was very busy, our waitress Jenn was very attentive to the table and gave great recommendations on the menu. The crab bisque soup was excellent and the fish tacos were incredibly fresh tasting. For a first time visit, I was super impressed! I will definitely be back! Perhaps for lunch next time!!“

“Pretty good experience. What you would most likely expect from a chain-restaurant . Place had a port town atmosphere, square shaped bar on one side and tables and booths on the other.
My opinion is the wings are the best item on the menu. I got a grilled chicken salad. Decent quality, but the quantity of chicken was way small. A very thin pounded out piece of chicken.
Overall an okay place. Service was very good. Our waitress was kind and attentive. All staff were friendly.
My fam went on a Saturday and our little girl's meal was free. Helps a lot when the bill comes.

“Eventhough they are the tastiest Chinese food around me, I gave them 4 star for changing the flavor of the fried chicken ? and curry shrimp ? udon soup. The chicken seasoning taste different. My daughter doesn't like it anymore. My favorite the curry shrimp ? udon soup taste like boiled water with salt. Otherwise, everything else, especially their beef and shrimp with broccoli ? are wonderful. So it's their sesame chicken. I wish they would use the same seasonings back for the fried chicken and curry soups.“

“Fabulous meal. Their Sauerbraten, is my favorite. Also, great beer selections. Music by Ward and Charlie made it an even better experience. The atmosphere is very welcoming as is the friendly staff.

I wanted to update my original review. As I said, the Sauerbraten is my favorite. Have enjoyed it at Village Lanterne for years. My last two visits were disappointing. Instead of slices of meat, it was just chunks of meat and kind of fatty. The dumplings were not as good as they once were either. The gravy is still excellent. It used to be one of the best. The rest of my party enjoyed their meals that were not Sauerbraten. I am hoping I just got two unlucky meals and this is not the new norm.

“I give them 5 stars for value!!there’s no place like this period.You can eat until you are full and the containers will still be full.The dumplings are as big as baseballs and you must get them with the garlic sauce. “My favorite bagel in the area. Bagels are consistently toasted to perfection, chewy, and topped off with generous schmear. My favorite is the french toast bagel - tried at first on the staff’s kind recommendation. Can’t wait to be back and try more! :)“
